A "modern day" reproduction of the British Bulldog Revolver would be a old cowboys dream pocket gun! Love these antique Bulldogs snubs!

I inherited a revolver that looks identical to the engraved model you have on display here but it appears to be a .32 caliber of sorts. Also, it has the letters LB inscribed on the grips. Not sure who makes it but it appears to be made with precision and not a cheap revolver. Only thing is that I cannot find one like it to find out what it is.

Are there any other markings on the firearm? Proof marks or anything that would indicate the country of origin?

So glad you showed a bulldog. I've always been interested in them after seeing Bob Dalton's in the Dalton museum in KS.

My father had one of those on his own timber cruising-expedition in Mexico in 1926/7. I've a photo of him wearing it on the banks of the remote Rio Humaya, Durango, with a bullet-slide for a full reload. Very interesting that Custer may have had a pair at his 1876 demise. Thankfully, my dad survived his expedition!. (His father had emigrated from Birmingham, England, 1886 & smuggled a 'little gun' into the US through New Orleans, in his pocket. The customs man was a 'lazy fellow' & never searched him. Possibly a Bulldog - even the same one!).

Understand CUSTER had them too, looks like the loading and ejection method the Russians must have liked since they seemed to copy it Ejector rod and loading ejecting are identical

Yes, there are reports that Custer had a pair at the Little Bighorn. He was a firearms enthusiast and did not limit himself to guns issued by the military. The SGT MAJ below is correct, the operation resembles the Nagant. An unusual weapon in its own right with the unique method of sealing the cylinder to the forcing cone when fired.

Great video! I just inherited an English Bulldog 450 Adams in very nice condition. I’m trying to learn all about it, can you provide an email that I may talk to you about it? Thank you! Max

Very interesting pieces but looks like you can swap barrel and striking pin - kind en block, is it? And wonder why they went with such an odd extracting rod...

I had one of these as a kid, I can remember a bulldogs head stamp on it. I was only 13. My mum never knew. I lost some parts of the mechanism what held chamber in place and I never had any cartridges. God bless the 80s..lol. ex army pistols were common and rifle bayonets.. I haven't seen one in nearly 20+ years..

The only video with information about these revolvers. I really appreciate it. I’ve been trying to identify my British bulldog for a while now, since it has the stamping, and is similar in quality to the 2nd revolver shown, I can assume it’s a Belgian copy. Still not positive what it’s chambered in tho.

If those are Belgian and that does seem most likely the proof mark is usually to be found on the breech end of the cylinder a oval containing the letters E,L,G, for Liege. It is my recollection that Custer was carrying a pair of "Webley", R.I.C. revolvers in .450 at the Little Bighorn not 'Bulldogs", although you could claim the R.I.C. (Royal Irish Constabulary) was the inspiration for the Bulldog.

As you said, Owen, INTERESTING revolvers. You've been absent far too long. Now that you're back, don't even contemplate any more skylarking. You and the firearms featured in your videos have been sorely missed.

Those are marked "British Bulldog" but neither are British manufactured nor are they Webleys!!!! They are Belgian made clones!
