I always watch this video, time after again. I had a male British short hair cat as a child. His name was Burlington Burtie & he was magnificent. Miss him so much & l am a 50 year old lady. Thanks 🙏 for posting this.

I'm fairly well off and this pretentious video makes me gag. Might as well have posted in big font every minute how much money per year they make, how many homes they have, etc. It's one thing to make a humorous video of your fat looking cat. It's another entirely to do it just to hint at how you can afford to buy it fantastical meal-plans, pamper it, and show all the properties you have. Have some self-respect, people. Don't make videos like this.

Yes, what a lucky boy! I could tell my adopted BSH girls were treated like royalty, before their person had to go to a nursing home and they approved of their new subject. I now have a BSH mix, who is queen of the bed. She shows her heritage well. R.I.P. Tiger and Chessie

Lovely, thank you! My cat Snuggy was very old and had to be put down last year and I have no kitties in my life. I still have my pit bull, chihuahua and two dressage horses, but I miss the irreverent silliness of cat energy.

I am a cat elitist. I love them! I live in Evergreen, Colorado, I’m a cat sitter and cat mother and I work at veterinarian clinics. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cat be so spoiled and so cherished as Oophen. I wish ALL cats could have families and lives like this. I agree! My mom and I have watched this film so many times I've lost count. It's our favorite video. What is so amazing is that our new British Blue Shorthair Male kitten looks exactly like Oophen when Oophen was a kitten. He loves to play all the time just like Oophen. I wonder what breeder he used? I got my baby from plaidpluscattery.com in Connecticut. The breeder is a Feline Exclusive Veterinarian and her cats and kittens are used for Animal Planet's Cat's 101 British Shorthair edition and the Too Cute British Invasion show. It was hard to wait but boy oh boy was it worth it. My little Winston is like a wee cherub. We just adore our little guy and we love this video and this lovely family!

What a great cat! He seems to smile even while asleep as if he were Cheshire cat! What a great video! Thank you, Mike! One problem: those little guys on the stump aren't hamsters - they are chipmunks. It's impressive that Oophen doesn't even try to catch them. Obviously, he's not lazy, he must've just had a really good lunch, indeed. A good piece of buffalo tenderloin? I wouldn't mind to have it too. As to my cat, he prefers only high quality crab meat (jumbo). It's not that I can afford it to myself on a regular base, but my cat has it. And I also love watching him enjoying his treat, as you do. It gives me much more pleasure than eating this crab meat myself.

Hahaha loved it , i Think ive got Oophen sister she to loves the best in life , i found her in a out house that was abandoned in Wales i wouldent have seen her only because i needed a wee . We have become inseparable now , she is a little Burmese blue , but very small ive now had her with my family for 11 years , how someone could do this is beyond me leaving her as its about 20 miles from anywhere, i think they just dident want her. I grew up in Freetown West Africa and loved all animals, Anyway Oophen has put a very big smile on my kids faces as now they think our cat who is called Orri has a big brother . Hey there. I love your story about Ori. Now I'm not trying to be picky or rude, but I noticed a particular word you used in your comment above. I have to admit that it gave me quite a chuckle. It's the word "dident", and it reminded me of when I used to try to spell words out phoneticly, or how I thought they sounded. When I was around 6 years old, I thought it made sense to spell that word just as you did. Today, I now know it's spelled differently. It's spelled "didn't". Please don't be offended, because I thought that it was a cute mistake. Thank you for the chuckle.

You made my day! My husband's watching tv beside me, so I have no volume on my laptop right now (no sound required for your video)...this is priceless. Your kitty is gorgeous and so playful....so full of personality! He reminds me of my old cat Stormy 'Rip' who was a huge Russian Blue, is Oophen Russian Blue at all, I see a 'tinge' of the blue in his fur. He's precious. Blue is the traditional color of the British Shorthair, as well. They also come in blue cream, tabby, and perhaps other patterns. I had a blue cream BSH and a tabby. The blue cream was quite blue, with just a few cream spots, but I’ve seen the classic bicolor tortie pattern on BSHs. I had a Blue Burmese, too…very underrated color, in the U.S.!

One can take one good look at Oophen & see how well cared for, happy & healthy the sweet fella is with his forever family. He’s so beautiful. If you should ever get a female companion for Oophen, he would make sweet natured & beautiful babies...Handsome boy & yes, he has trained his parents very well. Our two fur babies, Tebow & Tiki Girl, love their tunnels & their outdoor time. We’re fostering two wee ones now. Thank goodness we’ve already been trained to handle them properly - LOL. 😻😻😻

Lovely cat! Oophen should also go to the vet from time to time and see if he has bladder or kidney problems. Even if you might know that, i love to spread this information around cause it can help other people which have lovely british shorthair cats. I found out about this type of problems which are quite often met at british shorthair cats just in time so my british shorthair is now happy and healthy. Much love and health for Oophen!
