British colonialism in Africa lasted 172 years (1808-1980). The British colonised 22 countries in Africa. Chief among them are Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, and Nigeria. These countries where English is spoken as an official language are known as Anglophone countries. #HistoryVille
