the main chips in canada are Ketchup, Salt and Vinegar, Dill Pickle, BBQ, Sour Cream and Onion, All Dressed and Original Plain. I was shocked to learn other countries don't have these same flavours haha. I love watching people try them... Molson is good beer too. and you should try poutine

Yeah!! It’s so funny how different countries have different popular flavours! I’ll be back in Canada next month so I’ll be trying even more things and posting videos of them! I have made my own poutines but yet to try a proper one! I’m sure it won’t be long until I do! Thanks for the comment!!

Old Dutch is spicier, and Lay's is sweeter, at least with some flavors. The reverse is true for the Sour Cream & Onion chips. Lay's is basically tasteless, while Old Dutch is wonderful. Store brand chips tend to have more vinegar, and Pringles chips are hit and miss. They had a hot dog-flavored limited edition run of chips a few years ago that was really good.

Nice! Seems a lot of the limited edition flavours are better, I often find that! We had some Marmite flavoured Walkers (Lays) as a limited edition in the UK some years ago and it was brought back to stores for an extended period because it was such a popular flavour!

@@TipsyTofuTravels I've never tried Marmite. Some years ago Pringles had a "mystery" flavor and some sort of contest to see if anyone could figure out what it was. I think it only took me about 3 chips to realize that it was Philly Cheesesteak. The different flavors that make that up were quite distinct, and it was really tasty. I'm constantly bemused by how horrified some non-Canadians seem by ketchup potato chips. I love them, and each brand has a distinctive taste. Unfortunately you tried Lay's, and it's actually Old Dutch that's the best. Pringles is also good, and Doritos have come out with ketchup flavored chips as well. Have you tried honey-flavored chips? Pringles has a limited edition "Hot Honey" (spicy honey) that's good. There's honey mustard that's not bad.

If you are lucky enough to have a mum, auntie or gran that has a great recipe for home made nuts and bolts, they will blow away any of these store bought mass produced snacks. Yes, a big part of the arsenal is Lee and Perrins, beloved in Canada as much as in the U.K. Regarding ONE outstanding Canadian snack food that you did NOT include...Hawkins Cheezies really are a snack that eats like a meal. A well deserved classic.

Thank you! I’ll have to see if my friend has a recipe for some home made nuts then! Are they specifically flavoured in some way? Also YES! My friend told me about Cheezies and when I’m back in Canada in a few weeks I’m gonna have to do another snack video 😂

Nice! Beware, do not bother with store bought nuts and bolts as they are a far too salty travesty. there are many recipes on line, but just know that you only need three essential cereal items, Shreddies, now owned by Post, the straight type of pretzels, and cheerios, which are an oats cereal. Peanuts are essential, dry roasted or not. Worcestershire sauce as mentioned, a couple of generous shakes of garlic and onion powder, and a modest amount of melted butter is all you really need. heat the cereals, pretzels and nuts in a saucepan with half the butter.. Add a generous amount of Worcestershire, but not TOO much. on medium heat, stirring all the while, add in the rest of the butter and the spices. Continue stirring. Once the aroma seems right and the cereals begin to brown, remove the pan from the heat and let cool. Some folks like them slightly cooled, then brought back to room temp. Even with the list of ingredients mentioned, this snack will prove to be far less expensive than chips and other factory made items. These are SO good, once folks get the recipe sussed, they often give them as a gift!@@TipsyTofuTravels

Funny thing about Mexican Chili Old Dutch potato chips is they were around in the 1990's and then disappeared for a good period of time until Old Dutch was seemingly convinced by repeated requests to bring it back and they've been around ever since. Old Dutch in general is the better chip brand than Lays. Hawkins Cheezies and Hostess Hickory Sticks are also good. Hostess used to be the better potato chip company in Canada until they were bought out by the American Frito-Lay company and completely became terrible overnight.

Enjoy Part 1 of our HUGE Canadian snack hall. I swear it took so much willpower not to eat these as soon as we got home, and I honestly don't know how me managed to wait almost 3 months to film this video. Part 2 is the sweet snacks, I felt the video was too long if I did them all in same video. I will link it in the description once it's edited and uploaded. I will say, that the Mac and cheese there is American. In Canada we have the same thing, same company (Kraft), same blue box but logo slightly different, but ours is called “Kraft Dinner” or KD which is the new logo, for short. And, like most things that we both have, there is a difference because of the ingredients used/allowed to be used between the two countries. So the “Mac and cheese” Kraft version we def don’t eat but pretty close lol I’m just being a cunt lol

Hahahahaha you’re completely right I bought that specific box of Kraft from the US but wanted to add it to the video as we had Kraft dinners in Canada. But I saw the box was different so well done for being incredibly observant on my video I appreciate it ☺️☺️ hehe!!

Ok, I'm writing this piecemeal, do pardon the pun, because I don't want to forget all of the mind-bendingly important observations I wanted to share with you, so first, True enough that,'to each his own' but especially because you get proper beer in the UK your choice of Molson was let's say, less than informed. Secondly, the cheese-it's, If you're comparing products from the US, bear in mind that in the US they have a business model for food that goes something like this, sell the poorest quality that you can get away with in order to maximize profit. Just try a Cadbury bar (which is not even a real Cadbury product they just have the rights to produce their own low-quality "chocolate' under the Cadbury name but it is definately not the same thing. That said bear in mind that if you're eating an American product it is almost always going to be sub-standard to what you are accustomed to. Ketchup chips... Don't taste a lot like ketchup, more like spicy vinegar, but they are still good in their own peculiar way. Seems like I have nothing more to say.... Can't be? Toodles and thanks.

Hi and thanks for your comment. Like I said the beer was from the plane flight home - so the choice was very limited. I spent a lot of time in Alberta and sampled a huge variety of local craft beer but of course couldn’t have packed them and brought them home with me. In terms of beer I’ve got a lot more to try so please recommend me some I might get a chance to find next month! :)

@@TipsyTofuTravels if you're asking about brand-name beer, of course this is a subjective opinion, but for me the best is Labattes Blue. It is a very clean tasting pilsner, taken with a grain of salt I am not a fan of the heavy stoats and prefer a pilsner. The worst that I have tasted in Canadian Beers is James Ready.. Dreadful stuff but worth a try just for the experience. I'm not a connasieur of beer so perhaps my opinions may not be that useful. My favorite British beer is , well dang I can't remember the name, it's a red cream beer so that should clarify my limited perspective. Bottom line is I don't think that I have much of value on that subject to off to you.,

No that’s very useful thank you I will try both of those beers just for the experience! In terms of red ales I’m wondering if it’s an Irish beer but if you do remember it please let me know! I haven’t had many red beers in my life!

@@TipsyTofuTravels Cheese-flavored chips can be really hit and miss. Old Dutch has Sour Cream & Cheddar, which is good. I also like the Old Dutch Cheese Pleezers (and so does my cat - I have to find some creative hiding places or she'll rip the bag open to get at them).
