I loved the X pipe and shorties on my T120, just pulled, sounded, and looked so much better. I found the booster plug very necessary on the 1200s Tally bally new year, my friend B-)

The de cat makes a world of difference. After I de catted my speedy the first time I blasted away enthusiastically from the lights she lifted the front wheel! It was probably no more than a couple of inches, but it felt like I was "pulling a dank nooner" as the youngsters say! I'm still running the stock mufflers. I do like the Weslakes for looks over the British custom jobbies. Speaking of which, are you flogging the weslakes? Happy new year Captain and all the Rambunctious Squadron.

That’s a fair point… I’d always wanted these from the start because they are a more traditional look and the sound is still loud (not quite as loud as the Weslakes) and a little smoother… the thors sound like the sky is ripping apart which is also a very cool sound… I also got the cross pipe so with the Weslakes this would have been too loud. If you keep the cross pipe and cat, the thors without baffles are great, but not as smooth a sound. So in summary I got the sleeper pros mainly because of the look but also so that I could have a decat without the sound being too obnoxious! Ultimately it’s what’s personal to you but there was nothing ‘wrong’ with the weslakes at all! Also, quite a lot cheaper than the sleeper pros!

I think the originals sound better, honestly. The good thing is, slip-ons also slip-off. They DO look good, although i think the classic Bonneville peashooter of yore would look better, dunno if you can get a set of those for speedmaster/bobber. And maybe sound better. There is an ol' boy in town here has a 70s era Bonnie with the ol peashooters and it sounds fabulous, best sounding Triumph i've heard. Dunno if he ever reamed 'em out or not.

Lovely Cap'n. Had me old Bobber decatted and BC Customs straight drags fitted a couple of years ago, plus the booster plug before that. It honestly sounded and ran like a bag of spanners until I did the 12 minute tune, but now it's f ing stunning. I keep looking at the DKN tune thingy and also the belt conversion. Not for any real gains but just because it can be done and I'm an idiot. Any thoughts old boy?

Ha ha! Very good food for thought!! The belt drive is a lot of money for not having any chain maintenance issues. I think that if the chain was difficult to get to, or couldn't get the bike on a paddock stand easily, then it might be worth it, but no real gains... Not even any lighter... Belts can squeak annoyingly too... My old Thunderbird Storm squeaked every so often if the belt got slightly misaligned... I think the balance it perfect with decat, BC Pipes and DNA air filters... Anything else after that doesn't really do anything unless you get the supercharger of course! :-) Thanks for watching and for your input! Happy New Year!

Got to admit I like both exhausts. Previous one was bassier and lazier sounding, new one is more visceral and deranged! 😆 New one looks better though. Can't wait to get all the bikes together and sell out a decent tunnel! 🤣

It’s going to be amazing. New pipes look more the part and are very well made and sound like a Triumph. Smoother. The weslakes were like the earth cracking asunder… looked wrong though. More 60s/70s than 40s/50s…

Looking at the British Customs website they say the Sleeper Pro’s don’t fit 1200 speedmaster 2018 (nor your 2019) - did you have any issues or problems installing them’cos they sound great but wouldn’t want to make a very expensive mistake?

They fit fine. They just have brackets that fit vertically rather than the horizontal ones on the standard pipes. The only issue we had was with the side stand bung. We had to bolt it on at an angle to get the side stand to be able to come up enough not to scrape on the floor… but all fine…

From British Customs… they’re a company in the US that make them… yes, very expensive. About $700? Got them through a UK importer Squaredealsltd. They had an extra £100 off as they weren’t selling… got them for about £500?
