Yes meitei is once a tribal. But they agreed and excepted to join general. Constantly, hills area is an independent land of tribals, but they wants to joined manipur. Manipuri enjoy 90% of the funds that allocated by central. . Out of 💯 53% of the total population were meitei and the remaining 47% are tribals. 40 seats of state assembly are occupied by meitei and 20 were allocated to tribals people. Even ADCs bill not table, about the six schedule LK. Advani the then Deputy Prime minister of India wrote a letter to ibobi CM for the extention of six schedule, to the six autonomous hill district councils of manipur on 11 -06-03. But that letter goes in vain whereas, eight schedule were enjoying by the meiteis.. the only ST quotas which is given by the indian constitution under article 371c for the tribals people of manipur are now demanding for them too knowing the fact that left nothing for hill people/ Tribals. After all obc and SC are held by them too. Now My simple question is that to the politician, bureaucrats, thinkers, front leaders and fellow statesman meitei that if this position were at your side/yours, what will be the answer and how will you express/state that meiteis are(........)????. In 1823, no one is living in Imphal valley. Meitei came to Imphal valley in 1836 from Thailand and Burma. But hill tribes are already settled in hilly area long before that.
