As a dual citizen (U.S. and UK) I appreciate this interesting review for us collectors in United States who tend to just dabble in coins from other countries. There is A LOT of beautiful coinage to collect out there! Thanks Numisman!!

Well said, and I couldn't agree more! There are a lot of interesting coins and histories to explore.

I collect nice looking world coins. Canada and older UK coins are cool to find. They have such rich history. I'll be looking out for the 1954 Southern Rhodesia 2 Shillings coin. Thanks Numisman.

The nice thing about the Rhodesian coins, is that it is a super short series(not a lot of coins), especially if you just want a type set.

Thank you again ❣️ I have some super amazing British coins. They are in super mint condition. I have all sorts of confusing information. When I check them out at eBay, the prices are super expensive. So, as well, having them graded is the best option I guess ⁉️ Very costly and inconvenient process for sure.

I'm a big believer in "buy the book before you buy the coin". I know that's not always practical and a lot of times you buy the book because you have the coin. But either way - educating yourself about what's out there is half the battle won. And yes, you are right the grading process has become integral to the hobby, for better or worse. I know some collectors who won't even touch a coin if it's not in a slab. And I can still remember a time when people rolled their eyes at coins being slabbed at all.

Glad to see British Empire colonial coinage. Nice stuff! (Sadly my Rhodesian collection is quite limited.) Thanks for sharing! (muckety-mucks?! 😅🤣)
