According to my investigations, there were only 3 mint altered silver made, perhaps 1839 farthings used as test coins. Only one supposedly known, claiming to be silver in Britain, however, it is probably similar to mine, only silver coated. This was probably an experiment that someone did at the mint at that time, the only other farthing might have been lost or misplaced.

The rare 1926 variety is known as the Modified Effigy, better known as the 1926ME, and the easiest way to identify it is the B.M. on the 'truncation' of the Kings neck. On the 1926ME, it shows a less clear BM, not the clearer B.M. (with DOTS).

I have an UNC 1902 Low Tide, plus a circulated 1902 Low Tide, several 1918H's, a 1918KN, several 1919H's, and a 1919KN. Also 2 x 1953's, but the 1950 and 1951 are very illusive! There are at least THREE Pennies that are RARER than the 1933!!

A few years back while laying a carpet my grandfather saw an unsavoury crack in the floor boards and bending down he saw a glinting object lying on top of some old electrical wiring. after an hour of farthing about he reached down for what turned out to be a unc mint 1920 penny. He was immediately electrocuted and lay dead for hours before being found. The good news is I inherited his house and considerable bank balance, I just love that penny and have it mounted above my bed.

I found a very worn 1920 penny under the floor boards when doing some work on my house about 6 years ago and hucked it in my 'Man Draw' next to my bed. After watching this video i dug it out and had a very close up look at it via a magnified glasses, and the colon does look closer to the B as oppose to the A. So i do i go about formally checking/confirming if it is in fact a type 2???

I was just watching 10 most rare & Valuable Queen Elizabeth II Coins and # 6 was a 1983 Two pence that actually have a "New Pence" instead. My Mother was from England and I had corresponded with family for a long time and I started going through my coins from UK and came across 20 of the New pence coinage 2 pence but not just from 1983....There are 17-1971,1-1975,1-1976,1-1981, All 20 coins have "New Pence" on them. Are they worth anything even though they are not from 1983?

I have a 1911 that looks absolutely identical to the hollow neck, but I read the difference is looking to see if the I points to a denticle. My I makes it not a hollow neck but the bust looks nothing like the non hollow neck. Have you heard of this?
