They did it with very little time. (th + v) --> this one is difficult, as sometimes I would pronounce it as "ferry", instead of "very".

Hi thank you for your efforts, it's very useful to me. I've been having a hard time to chenge my from accent to british because my tongue hurts. 'displacement' is 12 letters long but it has 3 syllables and I want to know why the long word such as 'displacement' is not a 4 syllables word and this word does look like a 4 syllable word to me. dis•pla•cem•ent(4) OR dis•place•ment(3) but my teacher pronounce this word as 3 syllables and it is correct. I'm a little bit confused about this though.

It's broken up exactly the way you did the second time: _dis-_ (meaning "away" or "wrong") _PLACE_ _-ment_ /dɪsplɛ́jsmənt/. Add those together and you get 3 syllables, since _dis-pla-CEM-ent_ doesn't make sense for a word that means "putting something in a worse place". _place_ (the word in the middle) has one syllable but two vowel letters because the "magic E" shows the A sound in _ace_ .
