British Gas enforcement raid Liverpool takeaway

Following a drastic reduction in gas usage at a Liverpool takeaway, British Gas enforcement raid the shop to check the gas meter. They discover the meter had been tampered with - which the shop manager denied all knowledge of. Consquently the meter is removed, and the takeaway subsequently closing owing British Gas over £3k in unpaid gas.

Seeing you know so much, explain how for example scottish power can put you on a ‘green tariff’ in which ‘100% of our green energy is produced by our own windfarms’ Let me get this straight, all of our national grid and the supergrids are all interlinked. By the windfarms, power stations, etc. power is a mish mash of wind/solar and fossil fuel. There is no direct line from windfarm to scottish power to their customers meter. So how can a customer ‘switch to all green energy’? It all comes down the same line, from the same substation, from the same pylons, the same national grid as the rest of it. Oddly enough the green tarriff can go up in cost when ever.. never down.. the standard tarrif remains fixed. Last time i cared to check, wind is free.. Can you explain this?

@@1700iDiGuy You are so wrong its hard to explain whats what but the boss of Octopus Greg Jackson, one of the most go ahead bosses has been online today fully explaining why electric is so expensive . He wants the outdated pricing structure to completely change as its utterly bonkers now he says..He knows what he s talking about ..Its quite long winded and you would be better off reading. Nothing is "free in renewables " The Wind Turbines are very expensive to maintain and can t run unless about at least a 10 mph wind and it does not start to make a profit until after 10 mph onwards .That first 10 mph pays for the maintenance ..Also in gales they shut down because they spin too fast .Solar Panels are more or less the same and in UK theres not really enough direct sun all the UK.

The only people making massive profits are a few huge producers linked to the UK .Eg Shell, BP and Centrica who produce oil and gas all around the world .The suppliers in the UK do NOT make much in the way of profits and over 30 have recently gone bust in the last 18 months.. Suppliers buy wholesale gas and electric at the current wholesale world price which is very high and in high demand with Russia holding Europe to ransom. Germany is buying up as much spare gas as possible because they rely on Russia who have stopped their supply

Now its going bonkers high people will fiddle MERCILESSLY , knowing that they are being stuffed by price hikes which should not be happening they will be emboldened to fiddle the meters both gas and electric..a duel fuel fiddle which i found quite often

Peter,I m a meter reader and I can tell you this fiddling Takeaway owner is of course lying through his teeth.He DID NOT get punished whatsoever..Far from it..all these two RPU people do is work out a repayment for the estimated theft of gas..Thats easy because they know the prices and how long he s been stealing ..In reality he should go to Magistrates Courts as deterrent but all BG do is rebill, add some small amount of costs , prob around £200 and thats it.. So next time a house blows up because the idiots have no idea what they re doing blame it on Revenue Protection for being too soft..The UK has more energy theft than any other European Country

That gas could have went anywhere, you can't attribute it entirely to reappropriation (not theft) by the consumer and you cannot estimate as my energy use varies widely and often unpredicably. Losses could be from leakage, others in the area reappropriating energy too- estimates are unacceptable, especially when the real thieves are the energy cartels who make deals in fancy buildings claiming ownership of a resource that belongs to the people! Fuck them!

I’m gas safe and sat in on a British Gas on a customer that had full insurance. Bath taps changed from thermostatic to basic taps. All it needed was a cartridge. Dynorod . Let’s get on to British Gas, they finally got the 2 gas fires out. 2 bin bags of rubbish. Then they stick a flue gas in the flue. And walk away. Prv is was prone to freezing too, backfall to the boiler.

says from Channel 5..BBC did a similar one where they simply rebilled a Takeway £7000 ..no fines or Magistrates Courts and the RPU men get a 10% bonus of the £7000 so happy days for them too. I m a meter reader and have done RPU work on electricity for Scottish Power...no bonus for us though, just aggro and risk of attack from loonys

Why just backbill ? prosecute them .. no wonder they just make sure to do a better tamper next time and will not allow meter readers in .I was a meter reader for 20 years and have seen these cog shaving tampers on older meters where its a lot harder to actually shave the driving cogs off than the metric meter in use ..Your BG RPU men should know that 17 cubic metres is 190 kwhs a day which equals approx. £14 a day if its priced at 7.25 p a kwh .Business gas rates are higher than 7.25 p /kwh and in Oct 1 st its going up to 14 p kwh domestic so double the price it is now..Get ready for much more tampering and WHY are you showing this method on KZbin so domestic users can try it

@@oumuamua1963 Moron could nt even tighten the unions up .I walked into one house in the biggest fiddle area in Doncaster in Hexthorpe and straightaway I could hear the gas coming out of the unions..House was nt far from going up with an apprentice plumber upstairs fitting a bathroom who said he thought the smell was cats .They had rushed out after either switching meters or reversing it and could nt be bothered to tighten the unions
