Just a few things on Elvis. He sold more than any artist. Made 31 Films. 21 Number 1s. Recorded more than 700 songs. did 2 years in the Army. Black belt in Karate. Had a police badge if needed. Very good towards the Black community. The most generous person you could ever meet. Gave Houses, Cars. Paid many bills. For College. Hospital. Even for strangers. And didn't want any publicity. Undoubtably the best looking guy ever lived. and much more. Died Aug 16 - 1977. Age 42.

@@johnbattles1002 The thing is, the young people don't really have much CHANCE to know the truth..the main sources of information that filled all the books, even books that they didn't write, came from the Memphis Mafia who admitted that they were seeking revenge for being fired. Many books have been written using their books for reference. And then other books written using THOSE books for reference so the lies are passed from book to book, generation to generation. Priscilla's book was, in fact, very loving and she said she wrote it at the time to counter the books by the MM and in particular, the worst one, Elvis What Happened by Albert Goldman. She said that she didn't want her daughter "to think that was her father". She IS a habitual liar, but I don't think it started until after she wrote that book, when she realized that Elvis fans hated her for what she had done to Elvis while he was alive. Then she started putting little jabs in her interviews and movies that she produced or helped produce. Excuses for what she did, like her movie Priscilla where she tries to make it out like Elvis kept her a prisoner in Graceland, when in fact, she had a bottomless credit card and a car, and said in her book that she was gone so much that the baby preferred the sitter to her.

And just because,Miss Prissy Priscilla was married to Elvis, doesn't make everything true she says about Elvis. She made sure she kept his last name. She sure made some money off that last name herself. Elvis has always had a awesome voice & it got better with age. And another thing, just cause he got some added weight towards the end of his life, didnt mean he could not still sing with passion. Go listen to the song Hurt. People act like people who gain some added weight are despicable. To many people like to criticized others they truly know nothing about. Elvis will always big the best. Because ELVIS ALWAYS GAVE THE VERY BEST OF HIMSELF WHEN HE PERFORMED. And that jumpsuit outfit he is wearing at this concert weighed more than 70 pounds. So yes he is sweating. Do a better search. The young girl in the middle has made many incorrect comments. Please Do not make comments unless you have done significant research and can relay it accurately. Elvis's birthday and date of death is very easily found anywhere on the internet. He was 42 when he died and when this video was produced in 1973 at a live satellite concert from Hawaii that streamed around the world, he was in fantastic shape and his voice was top-notch. In fact his voice was amazing through all of his career through the 50s 60s and 70s. He was an amazing entertainer, had a huge cultural influence on society in the fifties, helping to bridge the divide between black and white people, he loved people, he loved his fans, he gave generously to charities and to people in need throughout his entire life. Sadly he was manipulated by his manager Col. Tom Parker, he was trapped in a vicious cycle of constantly needing to tour to make money to pay his manager's gambling debts and to pay the hundreds of staff and family members that he was providing for. He felt obligated to them and as he got older and the lifestyle of his superstardom got worse, his body started failing with numerous ailments, many which were genetically pre-disposed, he ended up taking many prescription drugs to push through his pain and to allow him to keep performing, to keep being Elvis Presley. Eventually, it was too much for his heart and he passed away sooner than he should have. That's a very short recap of his life. He was an amazing human being with magnificent talent. 💙👑💙

1935 on January 8 a huge star was born, but sadly in 1977 on august 16 we lost a great musician, a amazing singer, but we also lost a amazing humanitarian that helped so many people that he did not even know. Today over 47 years after his death, people are still calling Elvis the King of Rock'n'Roll. I don't think that Elvis was only the Master of Rock'n roll, he was a Master of music, why, well because he could sing AMAZINGLY well in any genre, but what do you think, is he good enough to be called a music Master??? Elvis was really in my mind, the Master of GOSPEL and other music, no one does it better then him in my mind, yes he is best known for making Rock'n roll famous, so he was called The King of Rock'n roll, but he never liked that people called him that, he repeatedly stopped fans who said that he was the king of rock'n roll, telling them: I'm just an entertainer and singer, God is the only true King (sometimes he also said Jesus Christ is the only true King)... He also never liked the "so called joke" Elvis the Pelvis, he loved Jokes but never once that hurt anyone, so for him to hear, or read this for him was very hurtful people. Elvis was born in the poor part of Tupelo Mississippi (in a shotgun house) and it was mainly Afro Americans living there, at the place where Elvis family lived there only lived 3 more white families, the rest was colored people, his family was dirt poor until he became an artist after singing in a mainly colored peoples church during his childhood. Did you know that he had several friends that where Afro Americans, one of his friends where James Brown, yes THAT James Brown (The King of Soul), another artist was B.B King, yes that B.B King... He also was a good friend with Mohamed Ali, yes the GREATEST boxer of all time, he even had a Robe made for him, but it was to much bling on it so Ali wouldn't where it more then one time to a fight. Elvis really admired Martin Luther King very much, Elvis felt that all people are equal, unfortunately he never got to meet him, that would have created to much problems for both of them at that time. He had several medical problems, Glaucoma, (Insomnia) sleeping problems, irritable bowel syndrome, things that affected his real life and made him need medication to function. Yes, he took medicines that today are considered to be called drugs, but at that time doctors prescribed it to him and to ordinary people, they did not know of the problems it could give people (side effects). He never took any so-called street drugs, but unfortunately he did not realize that those medications would be a problem for him, he thought that they where ordinary medicine because his doctor prescribed them to him and to everyone else that needed it. Many out of his relatives died at a relatively young age, so even if he wouldn't have the medication, he might have died at about the same age. He could never be alone and thus himself, at that time the word superstar did not exist, so nothing could prepare him for that kind of life. Did you know that a big group of white people actually smashed his records and wanted to ban his music, just because they called the music he did so called N... music, that is so painful to think that some people actually can think like that, skin color is just color and nothing more, when will people start to realize that? There are some videos of when Elvis joking and messing up, he loved to joke around and pretend that he did not have control, but he had total control, he actually conducted his musicians and back up choirs all the time ! He is the only person to have 2 records gone to sell Gold and 2 to to sell Platinum since he died. Elvis is also in almost every genre of Music Hall of Fame (5 that I'm sure of Rock 'n' Roll, Country, Gospel, Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues), if Gospel is a genre in Music Hall of fame, then he should be in there to, but no one else is in more then perhaps 2 genres as a SINGLE artist, a few might be as a single artist and in a band... Not bad for someone who never took a single singing lesson (he also got a F = FAIL in music at school), yes he sang in church so perhaps he learned a little there, right? Something else that people tend to overlook, that he always conducts his musicians and backup singers, he never gets credit for being able to doing that. Imagen you are a singer, you have great Musicians, you have great backup singers, no Guest Artists, no Auto tune, no Lip singing and no Fireworks, now all is about your skill, could you handle that pressure? At the time when Elvis started to perform, Auto tune did not exist yet and when it became available, then he still did not use it, he did not need to, he always sang so that you could hear every word that he sang, the Fans always felt that he sang to just you ! That is what Elvis did in over 1600 concerts (during his 20 years as an artist), despite having problems with his health, like his Glaucoma, the headlights must have hurt his eyes like crazy. He sang over 800 songs, I wonder how he could remember them all, he never wrote a song himself, so he had to remember other peoples lyrics, well that is amazing in it self. By the way he had Glaucoma and that must have been difficult being in the headlights all the time, that could be why he sometimes closes his eyes, but also sometimes squinting! This unfortunately made him temporary blind after the shows, that is why they led him of the stage and into his car, that is something that not many people knew about Elvis. Elvis suits was made of 100% Polyester, or 100 cotton (I'm not sure witch one), it was originally a karate suit, the suit it self was very light, but it was hot, so it made him sweat a lot, he got some bad press about that, but if you give it all then you will sweat, it should be positive, right? YES some of the suits became very heavy from all the jewels they put on them, I think that he got the idea of a lot of jewels from the pianist Liberace, am I right, or wrong in the thought??? About the deep base voiced JD Sumner (a member of The Stamps Quartet) he is a Basso Profundo, I think it's called that, it is the deepest base singer there is. Here is a video about Elvis helping others, look at this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaOtYpZvqdJgeZI Elvis made a show where all the money went to build the Memorial after Pearl Harbor, he talked to the nations about taking the Polio vaccine, Elvis took the first injection himself, he helped by donating a big amount of money to St Jude hospital, they fight against cancer (especially children with), he gave away loads of jewelry, gave away cars, he even gave away some houses to total strangers. Elvis started an organization that helps people to get out of Homelessness (Presley Charitable Foundation), this organization helps people even now close to 50 years after he passed away. A thing that you perhaps did not know: Elvis ALMOST NEVER did a show OUTSIDE OF USA, yes he did sing a few times in Canada: 4 concerts, 2 times in Toronto, 1 time in Ottawa and 1 time in Vancouver (during the 50:s?). When the Aloha From Hawaii (Live in Honolulu 1973) was showed it had over to 1 Billion viewers from around the whole world and 3.7 billion people lived on earth at this time, so it was close to 1/4 of all of the population on the earth that viewed the show, it was the first time a single artist was shown LIVE around the globe. Video of Mohammad Ali speech after Elvis had died: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoCbfKSVaLCHr6s I have to say that I loved being at Graceland and seeing his home, first we were at the shotgun-house in Tupelo Mississippi where he lived in his early years, he was born there ! You don't have a guide taking you on a tour, you can go all over yourself, but stay outside of the ropes and do not attempt to go upstairs, the outside is huge, so is the house, but you don't realize that from the front of the house. I don't regret for a second that I was there, or that I stood at his grave site and said out loud that this is for the humanitarian Elvis/the person/the man and then I gave him a military salute, the others there just looked at me and asked if I didn't like his music. So I told them that he was clearly one of the best singers and artists ever, but I loved his big heart more, he helped so many people without getting credit for it, he didn't want the credit of helping others, he did it out of love and respect and to me that is what true charity is all about. This PLACE (GRACELAND) should be a protected part of music history and also American history forever, I think that people will keep coming for years and years and years to come ! Elvis did lots of things for America to, he helped in a big way to avoid getting Polio (he took the vaccine in a TV show and that made the interest for taking the vaccine to go up from 0,6 % all the way up to 80 % in 6 months). So in 6 months he got 79.4 % more of the American people take the Polio vaccine and shortly after that, it was eradicated from USA, he also helped in the fight to defeat Cancer by helping to build up St Jude's children cancer treatment clinic. He did this by donating a huge amount of money to them (they needed donations and he gave it), he also helped to build the Memorial over Pearl Harbor by donating a lot of money, he actually was the biggest donor he did many other things like that without letting the press now! Elvis thought that true charity comes from the heart, not by looking good in other peoples eyes, but it makes you feel good and help others, I feel that way to.

He was earth shattering in the post war 50's. He changed American culture and music. He was a style Icon. He came from the dirt poor black ghetto in Mississippi to be the most famous entertainer of all time. His xwife who left him for Her Karate instructor and took his little 4 year old daughter from him, continues her lies. She is living off the Presley name and if you read her daughter's recent book before she died at 54, called "From Here to the Great Unknown" you will see what her poor daughter endured from a Narcisstic mother. Only a billion and a 1/2 watch that show. It's been said Rock 'N' Roll and marriage does not work. At 19 years. Old, he made $19 a week.By the time he was 22 years old, he made over 22 million dollars. John Lennon from The Beatles said before Elvis, there was nothing. I hope you guys go down this trail. You would learn a lot about how America change and he was a big reason why we did. I enjoyed your reaction and yes he had a great great voice

Don't show young girls Elvis on the decline, in his final days. Show them 68 Elvis. Show them 50's Elvis. Show him at his best, as the young lion he was.

He was in pretty good shape at the time during his Aloha From Hawaii Concert. In fact he quit drugs and lost weight for it. Absolutely fantastic performances!!! However he should have stopped and taken care of his health issues, with all his fans, we would have gladly waited.

Miss, girl in the middle, What do you know about Elvis and Priscilla? Been reading the tabloids?

@ItsPrincess@ Elvis was 38 here in this 1973 Aloha from Hawaii speical. He died in 1977. What Now My Love is one of my fav Elvis songs ever. Just a great performance.

On live shows, starting in 1969, his female backup singers were the Sweet Inspirations. One of the 3 members was Cissy Houston, who was Whitney Houston's mom!!!

This concert was broadcast "Live, via satellite" from Hawaii. It was a BIG DEAL to see something that was happening in Hawaii live on TV in Georgia (where I was that night). This was, I think around 1972 and he died in August of 1977

Elvis’ twin brother was not killed He was still born. And he didn’t have a weird relationship with his mother. He probably had more untrue rumors abutout him than anyone Btw what has Priscilla Presley done to make her an icon besides being married to Elvis PresleyElvis was born with complex health issues that worsened as he aged. He died of a massive heart attack but he had so much sickness in his body it could’ve a combination of things He was The King of Rock N’Roll the icon the superstar the legend. Prisc

To the girl who's calling Elvis a cheater. For your information, Presilla Presley was screwing around with a Karate instructor Mike Stone, while Elvis was on tour or making movies. Before you accuse anyone, do your homework.

Actually, Elvis was 6 foot tall & weighed 170 pounds at the time of this satellite concert. Also, there are a lot of gossipy, Exaggerated, salacious stories and books about Elvis and with the exception of one, all of the others were written conveniently after his death. One-sided stories don't mean a thing.

Honestly im really dissapointed with how disrespectful and rude the girl in the middle was, like is it not ok to be a protective mother of your own son, especially when one of her sons died at birth? Like his mother was NOT a pick me. His mother died when he was in the army and it was heartbreaking for him so idk why she has to be so rude, but she needs to grow up cause calling somebody's mother a pick me when she is one, is not ok. And not her literally being so rude about him but then saying she would take him up. I literally cant rn 💀

yes this was the fat Elves. His voice had changed a lot. He could no longer do the R&R that made his name. He had become just another ballet singer doing very little moving around As to his voice wish i could remember the names of these things but Im getting old and they r going. U have 4 dif voices. U use dif ones to hit dif notes. I would not use the same voice to hit a A-1 as I would to hit an A-2 or A-3 or A-4. Yes even at 77 I can do it b/c i song every day doing warm ups while I move my cattle and get into full swing as I got to the chickens and by the time Im doin the pigs I'm singing Flowery Vale and then going to Indian Reservation before maybe going into Lion Sleeps and I hit the hit note. U see kids i spend most of my days by myself out where the only noise being made r being done so by wind water and animals. I add my voice to theirs when I am drowning them out with some machine. I spend about 10 t0 16 hr a day on a tractor bailing hay form Jun 1 to into Oct. I sing along to whatever come up on my play list. Replaced ear muffs for ear protection to headphones to ear buds. I hate the sound of a infernal combustion engine. Cant wait till my new French E ones get here. I have bought 2 to replace my 2 biggest. I am actually going up form 164 HP to 180. Ya I know recharge time. They thought of that. Made battery pact so u flip a switch flip 6 thingies disconnect the power wire by just doing a twist and hook the little crane that is part of tractor lift it out and set it down for recharging and yes u guessed it put another one in that is charged. Time to do this. After a few time about five min. Btw the crane is manual. U get about an hr at a good working speed, hr and half just running down the road by itself. Battery charge time is about 4 hr. I got 5 with each. Cost. Not cheap. Over $800K for the lot with shipping. The thing is if these are taken care of they will still be running like new in 50 yr. The only parts to go bad in them are the dam chip to give u GPS and let the tractor run itself. Ya they has a computer but u have to to adjust the power to each wheel to keep it going in straight and using power the best it can. Oh it is going to be so nice to have just the sound of the wheels and equipment. They can be noisy but no burning of shat to get work done. I m putting up solar and wind to charge them.

Yes you're right... Elvis was not fat, he was bloated because of water retention caused by steroids injection and prescription drugs he was taking.

I want to say it with respect, Elvis brother (Jesse) was stillborn, Elvis was a twin, so please get the facts right, Jesse was already dead before being born !!! Another thing that you need to realise, when Elvis started to perform, artists where suposed to stand still. Elvis got a lot of crap for moving around, but he could not stand still...

I came up with a special show, I know it's a fantasy and just a fantasy, but still what a show it would be. If it could happen, then I surely would do anything to go and watch and listen, but would you? Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Freddie Mercury (Queens singer), Meatloaf, Michael Jackson, James Brown (KING of SOUL music), Garth Brooks.

@ That’s the best he looked in a couple of years. I seen him in Concert in 1976 at the Capital Center in Largo Maryland outside Washington DC. He said because it’s the bicentennial would everyone stand up and sing America the beautiful with him. I was 15 years old then. I still have my ticket Stubbs.
