I just want to say, in my opinion, if a history does not touch on touchy subjects, it's an incomplete history. Likewise, if it shys away from 'inappropriate' words, the true history may well be diluted. Though I do understand that you may prefer certain wotds or subjects not be mentioned in your videos, due to the censorship of the medium.

On your point on slavery whilst technically not slavery the USA currently pays 1 dollar an hour for labour in prisons (amounts to 2080 a year) and has laws on drugs that explicitly affects black people more than white people (I.e. crack cocaine more common among african Americans as oppose to coke common to white American, they are the same with different methods of usage)

Also when you said here come the dark times with hitler you are ignoring the fact that every country not in britain during the empire considered that the dark times, not trying dig at you I just dont think the uk learns enough about this saying this as a person living in NI under a British education system I only learnt this stuff later in life. For example the British empire under churchill and before was a big cause in about a million deaths in india

I don't know about now, but we covered it at school in the 90's but not until A-Levels (16-18 year olds). As you can imagine, the British Empire is a huge, complex event covering centuries so there have to be some broad strokes used to get through it in schools. The opium wars have become a bit of a footnote. Mostly it's the British in Ireland and India, the scramble for Africa and the Transatlantic slave trade that schools focus on most.
