Should be pointed out that Ford pardoned Nixon NOT because of his friendship.... but as an effort to put the entire "Watergate Scandal" aside and allow the government to go back to doing the business that had been placed on hold due to the Watergate investigations and possible impeachment process. In other words, he did it in order to get things back to normal for the government, AT THE COST, of providing the sense of "justice" for the general public. As such, while it was the correct thing to do in order to get things back to "normal" it was a very unpopular action because so many people (both politicians and citizens) felt as if they had been "cheated" out of justice. Most people would NOW say that it would have been smarter if Ford allowed Nixon to be judged (impeached or by jury) and THEN pardoned. Because at least that way it would have allowed the "legal system" to have come to an official conclusion on what laws were broke and how they were broke.

Richard Nixon was never impeached. Impeachment was coming, but he resigned the presidency before being impeached.

I remember playing with mercury that was kept in a jar. Didnt know what it was, just knew how neat it was to play with. Its a sleek looking glob of silver that if you separate it , it always came back together.. It was years later I learned it was mercury and how dangerous it was playing with it. We had asbestos in schools, poisons everywhere that we now know are poisons today. We also had the AIDS epidemic, much MUCH worse than Covid, and no shutdown. This is the darker side of the dangers Gen X faced.

Mom needs to learn "low & slow" to get at least close. Millie the look you gave him when you got the turkey in your mouth & a bit of time (seconds) to experience it... that was just an OMG moment. I hope we can get a full review from his mom on her overall what her thoughts were around the trip. Also hope Millie's mom (or folks?) can go next trip! Great reaction/try video!

When I hear a brit at the gun range, I just duck. =D Just kidding. Good to have you in the U.S. A. visiting a gun range. Well run shooting ranges are nice because gun safety is extremely important. Some gun ranges allow you to bring your own targets. It's fun to make cartoon animals, as targets. Since cartoons don't feel pain.

Russia, India, China and North Korea all mandate by law that civilians serve at least one year in the military...the US doesn't. The US is much better trained and funded, because the people who fight for it, want to be there. Ukraine has managed to hold Russia at bay to an extent, with Russia losing nearly a half million soldiers...because the majority of them don't even wanna be there.

I’m a little sick and tired of ppl saying, ‘that’s not a typical US home’. Such BS. Have to be ppl who’ve lived in the same home most of their lives and never updated it. The kind of homes buyers immediately renovate to modern standards. If you go anywhere new homes are built, these are very typical, and I don’t mean new homes today. New 20-30 yrs ago. I lived in Vegas then and had an apartment w/an en suite, not like theirs, but technically an en suite, and there was no door to it. The toilet was behind a door, which is what they have also, but I could see the sink and the huge Roman tub/shower from my bed. The walk-in closet was nice too. I looked at homes/condos there, and they were almost exactly like the ones you’re seeing in these vids: open kitchens, double-car garages, en suites w/the toilet behind a separate door, at least 3 bathrooms, etc. And again, that was 20-30 yrs ago. Even now, if you’re in a place where there’s room to build new neighborhoods not too far from a major metro area, you can buy a home not too diff from theirs for a lot less than an older home in the metro area.

Nic (the Fat Electrician) was slightly less than accurate when it comes to 2 things in this video: 1.) If I had to say what event was the single biggest case of "F**k Around & Find Out" in history, it would be when a man named Inalchuq, who was a governor of Otrar in the Khwarezmian Empire, decided that it would be a good idea to first kill a trading party from the Mongol Empire, and then to confiscate all their trade items. Genghis Khan then sent an ambassador to discuss the issue, which was when Inalchuq decided to take it to truly epic levels...and had the ambassador beheaded, with the body being sent back to Genghis Khan (the head, according to stories from the time, was in a basket tied to the saddle that carried the headless corpse). Now, if there was ONE THING that Genghis Khan NEVER overlooked, it was when _anybody_ harmed his ambassadors. Even a bruise given to one of them could be an issue punishable by death. For what Inalchuq did, Genghis Khan actually marched his forces to the Khwarezmian Empire and removed it - _and all those who lived in it_ from the face of the planet. 2.) The United States actually "yeeted" (as Nic called it) TWO manhole covers into space. The first time, nobody knew what happened, so the guys running the underground nuclear tests at the time set up another manhole cover like the first one, detonated another nuke, but this time there were high-speed cameras filming the cover. Only one frame of film actually shows the cover moving, and from the shutter speed and the change in position over 3 frames (one showing the cover firmly welded over the shaft it was covering, the next showing the cover being launched, and the third frame showing the cover completely out of frame) they were able to determine that the blast imparted a velocity of roughly 125,000 miles per hour (200,000kph). There is some debate which is still taking place as to whether that outrageous speed, coupled with air friction, would have resulted in the manhole cover actually melting before it reached orbit, but we'll never know. Since the escape velocity to leave earth is 25,168.75 mph (or 40,270kph), it can safely be said that if it made it out of the atmosphere, then it was never coming back to Earth.

In regards to their number 10, I would suggest that rugs are more hygenic than carpets, and easier to deep clean. You can lift them up and take them outside, or to wherever you choose, and clean them properly, and there is only so much you have to do based on the area of the rug in question. The rest of the floor is hard wood or vinyl of some form, and easy to clean and disinfect with a broom and mop. A carpet has to be cleaned with a steam cleaner or something similar, and you have far more surface area to clean. It takes FAR more effort and time to clean properly. I prefer the hardwood with carpet, as, in addition to the ease of cleaning, you can pick specific rugs to match the theme of a particular room. If you change the furniture and/or theme of the room, changing the rugs is usually cheaper and easier than changing carpets for that reason. Admittedly, you can do the same with a carpet, but I often feel that a rug on top of a carpet usually looks silly.

The Watergate Scandal and the entire Nixon, Ford, Carter and Reagan era from 1968-89 is very interesting. If you want to watch a great film on Watergate, The best is "All The Presidents Men" a great 1976 film starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. It is about how Washington Post Reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein exposed Watergate. A great film!. Finally, there are alot of great documentsries on Watergate, the Ford, Carter and Reagan Administration. These historical reactions are fantastic, Thank You for them.

Hey Beesleys, you need to check out the story of Charlie Brown and Franz Stigler incident that happened in WWII. It involves a US B-17 pilot Brown, and a German BG-109 ace pilot Stigler. It's a heartwarming story about enemies who because best friends. Probably the best story to come out of any war.

The impeachment process for Nixon began, but he was not removed from office. There were three articles of impeachment (obstruction of justice, abuse of power, contempt of Congress) brought against Nixon and adopted July 30, 1974 by the United States House Judiciary Committee. Impeachment proceedings ended on August 20, 1974 without an impeachment vote, for to Nixon's resignation from office.
