This might be my favorite Jordan reaction yet. This guy gets it. The understanding and appreciation towards what you’re witnessing. Basketball knowledge or background need not apply. Any background in life, any country you’re from, any language you speak…doesn’t matter. It’s not us, it’s him. It’s Mike. He is unequivocally timeless. Michael Jordan is 1 of 1 in human history. Any and every superlative that is or has ever been used to describe him is 100% inarguably true and correct. He is the only person and/or thing in the known universe that is completely impervious to hyperbole. Entirely immune to it. The man is hyperbolically impenetrable. This isn’t even debatable. Muthafucka really was just that good.

The thing about Jordan beyond all that grace and athleticism was a determination to win. Jordan was absolutely CLUTCH. The man wanted the ball. He wanted the game on his shoulders. He wanted to be the deciding factor. And he freakin’ delivered! Time and again. That kind of will to win combined with a seemingly limitless talent is incomparable. No one else is even close.

Watching Michael Jordan was like watching a superhero who never lost on the biggest stage. I have never been more confident in a player and team winning a championship than watching him. With other championship teams they might be favored and they might have a good chance of winning, but it felt like the Bulls winning when they were at full power was literally guaranteed. It didn't even feel like there was a chance they could lose going into a game 7. I didn't even feel nervous...

Honestly, this isnt even his best stuff. Most of these are mainstream clips. A lot of them are crucial situations and significant moments. You really had to be there to understand. I remember him just getting raw. The quickness, the anticipation, and of course the flight. The plays he missed the shot, or got fouled, or didn't count were insane. Everything he did was a highlight.

Michael Jordan retired in '93 after the first 3-Peat when his father was murdered. After returning after 1 1/2 years, the Bulls had retired his Jersey, so he wore number 45 because 23 was hanging in the rafters. Jordan was coming to play games, still at a high level, with his statue in front of the arena and his number retired in the rafters. He is also the only player to get his jersey retired by a team he never played for (Miami Heat).

I got to see his ENTIRE career from college to his final retirement . EVERY single night he played was ELECTRIC... every single game he played , he played with 100 % effort and drive . Just imagine Messi giving you 10-20 amazing highlight type plays a match .. EVERY match he ever played. Thats what it was like watching MJ playing. His athleticism is still unmatched even today ( his verticle jump was 48 inches and his 40 yard dash time was 4.39 seconds ) and his overall skill is still unmatched . Being a basketball fan or knowing the rules need not apply to what everyone sees when viewing the mixtape. It’s called the “eye test” and you obviously get it. You couldn’t name anything that Jordan wasn’t good at and you could easily state things in the video that he is better at than his peers. What separates athletes like Jordan and Messi from the pack is their sound fundamental skills. They know what they’re doing and how to do it well but they add in the flair and grace and artistry to mesmerize fans and opponents. Thanks for the upload! It was a pleasure hearing your commentary.

Enjoyed your reaction, my dude! Being from Chicago I had the good fortune of watching Michael Jordan in person at the old Chicago Stadium. When he was drafted as a rookie Chicago was mildly excited to have such a highly regarded draft pick. We weren't dreaming for the stars but hopeful that we might have a talent that might be competitive with the big dogs in Boston and L.A. By his third game in the league the town was abuzz with excitement. He was an electric player to watch from the start. Pure poetry in motion. Fluid. Agile. Creative. Explosive. With a will to win unmatched by anyone during his time in Chicago He dominated on both ends of the court.. From the jump watching the Bulls became must see TV. Btw, he was on top of the world having won 3 straight Championships and cementing himself as the #1 star in the league. And then tragedy struck. His father was murdered. Dealing with his grief he retired from basketball. And decided to take up his second love, baseball as a career. His retirement lasted for a year and a half. he returned to the Bulls mid season. The next full year he lead them to the Championship again. And two more years afterward for a total of 6 Championships. It was an amazing time to be a Bull's fan. In the end we knew no matter how rough the seas we still had Michael Jordan and the opposition didn't.

Watching Jordan LIVE was just extraordinary. IT DID NOT MATTER WHAT NIGHT YOU WATCHED. You would be watching the game... and you would see normal plays... and then, somehow, on some random broken play, Jordan would just start doing AMAZING things. It was as if... Jordan just decided, "I need to make some highlights" for this game.... We watched him do it so many times, it just became expected that we see something amazing.

his dad was murdered so he took a year off to play in the MLB (he wasn't great, but still good enough to be in the MLB). He came back to basketball after the one year break. Won 3 straight championships before and after his break. Goat. As to why he changed his number, “I didn't want to wear 23 because I knew my father wasn't there to watch me, and I felt it was a new beginning and 45 was my first number when I was playing in high school.” Would recommend watching the last dance

I can't speak for anyone else, but I can't remember a single time that I watched the Bulls play and as soon as the game ended I went straight to the courts to embarrass myself trying to mimick something Jordan did in the game whether it was a shot, pass or a layup!! He played baseball almost 2 years after his father died (murdered). He lost motivation for basketball. Then he returns back to Chicago Bulls and wins another set of 3 titles. He returns later again at 38, but he was injured.

He was the best in every facet of the game. Highest vertical leap amongst all NBA players still to this date. He could palm the ball (hold it with one hand) to misdirect defenders. Best offensive AND defensive player in his prime, which no other player before or after had accomplished. And the greatest winner in the modern competitive era (sorry Bill Russell). He also made his team great, the Bulls were a perennial losing team before he was drafted by them. What you don't understand is that a lot of those buzzer beaters he hit we're the last shot to win massive games such as the deciding NBA finals game, where the ball was in the air when the buzzer sounded. This would be like Beckham making a crazy penalty shot from 30m out with 10 secs to play to tie or win the finals of the European/World Cup, but Jordan did several times during his career. He would make shots back in the day after defense intentionally fouled him hard with the intention to injure him and take him out of the game, these days they don't even make any body contact. He would hit the most insane shots which no one else in history could ever do, an example was how often he would shoot / release the ball when he was descending in the air. Sorry but Messi and Ronaldo don't come anywhere close in football to how MJ dominated basketball. He would deliver a Maradona like performance embarrassing his opponents consistently, almost every night. Also for furtger context a lot of his highlight shots / dunks / crazy plays were made against the best defensive players / centers in their primes, and he did so to embarrass them immediately after they challenged him.

I was luckily enough to see Jordan live in this first five years in the league. There is nothing compared to this day to the stadium roar on a Jordan break away dunk. They sensed it from the moment of a steal. Amazing thing to see. Everlasting memory!!

You asked how you can stop him. Let me tell you, as a person that saw him live as a kid and as a fan of a team that he defeated in the Finals, the answer is simple: you can't. He went to the Finals 6 times and he came away with 6 rings, being named the Finals MVP in each series. He was named the MVP of the entire league 5 times. He was named Defensive Player of the Year, and made the All-Defense team 9 times. He was a 14-time All-Star and 10 times was named to the All-NBA First Team. He won a gold medal in the Olympics. He's known to be kind of an asshole, and rightly so it seems, but a lot of it comes from a competitiveness that borders on complete insanity - teammates said even the practices were more intense than most other team's actual live games because he never took a rep off. Seeing him play was like watching a Greek god or something, he floated, he hung in the air, he spun and moved like a dancer and he had a killer's instinct. There will never be another as good as Michael Jordan. Never.

After winning 3 straight championships he was exhausted and decided to retire and have a go at his favorite sport growing up - baseball. His dad had just recently been murdered and he was under investigation for his extensive gambling (he never bet on basketball, but was an avid gambler). So he just was just tired of everything going on around him and he walked away. And then he came back a couple of years later and won 3 straight titles again.

That last shot was from the final game of the 1998 final. Utah leads 85-82. Jordan scores 84-85. Then steal the ball from Karl Malone and score the last shot of the game: 86-85. He scores 45 points in that last game for Chicago.

MJ retired for 2 seasons when his dad died and didn't want to wear 23 anymore because his dad wouldn't be there to watch him play. 45 was a new chapter in his career and it was the number he wore during high school. eventually going back to wearing 23. 23 is officially retired by the Bulls. no player can wear that number

I think to understand Jordan watching him live you have to consider this: you see that hustle? You see him all over the place as a defensive pestilence? You see him embarrassing his peers? That was MJ every minute of every game. No, Jordan wasn’t perfect. Jordan didn’t make every shot. He WAS a freak of nature. Boundless energy. A competitive desire unmatched in sports. 5:00. I am a New York Knicks fan. Michael Jordan was my nightmare in the 1990s every time the Playoffs came around. As a New York Knicks fan, we all knew that the path to the Finals was going to be through Chicago. The only year that the Knicks made the Finals going through Chicago was 1994. Michael Jordan didn't play that year which is why the Knicks could finally beat the Bulls.

After he won 3 straight championships, his dad was murdered in 1993 so he retired that season to play baseball at the MLB like his father wanted him to before he became a basketball great. He then came back in 1995 and won 3 straight championships again from 1996 to 1998 including having the best regular season record at the time of 72-10 in 1995-1996 season, with two other hall of famers Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen. Scottie Pippen actually played with Jordan for every single championship he won (Dennis Rodman was there for the Jordan comeback three peat making Dennis have 5 championships total. Rodman had won 2 other rings before joining the bulls with the Detroit Pistons from 1989 to 1990, defeating Michael Jordans bulls twice in the Eastern Conference Finals)

Straight from the legend himself, Michael has said many times even on Oprah. He firmly believes that he would never reach his level of success if he had to play today. First of all the game was invented by an American, James Naismith and featured 11 men on each team! The game has totally changed. The cheeky part of MJ even smirks when asked if cell phones were around when he played and he immediately says if he was hounded by cell phone cameras he guaranteed that he would not have been married to Juanita for long! What can you say about a guy who self-identifies as Black Jesus! True story. Reggie Miller had just joined the NBA and started to talk trash to Michael. At halftime Miller had 12 points to Jordan’s lowest 2 points in his career. Jordan said nothing back to Miller but strangely watched as MJ would point to Indiana’s bench and point. Larry Bird was admired by Jordan as the greatest Small Forward he ever saw. Coach Pat Riley said he wanted Magic Johnson to win a game, Jordan to win a championship, but Larry Bird to make a shot to save his life. Lol

i think an argument could be made for Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, and Jordon are the top of the line goats. Jordon is my goat of goats, but i can understand an argument for any of them. Kinda hard to compare

Great reaction. Pure sport. He played every game like that. All 82 most seasons, at both ends, all out. It was magnificent, which I say as someone whose team was in his division. My guys never won it, because that guy. That's the guy, all time, not a close call. BTW you should also look at Larry Bird's "greatest passer" reel. He'll blow your mind also, in a different way.

Basketball nowadays has more emphasis on the 3-point shot than back when Jordan played, that being said the greatest players can adapt, Jordan would no doubt adapt to the way the league is now if he was playing today.

This is by far the best reaction to this mixtape I've seen. You get it. Excellent reaction. Yeah, MJ took a year and a half off. His father was murdered. He retired in his prime and played baseball because his father had always wanted him to do that. He had won three championships in a row before that. Then he returned and won three more in a row. That in itself is just inhuman. He made basketball absolutely balletic. You could not take your eyes off him. That last shot was his last shot as a Bull, and it won them their sixth championship.
