This show has one of the most accurate portrayals of panic attacks I’ve ever seen. I’ve had panic attacks in the past, and that is very close to how they felt. That is Hannah Waddingham’s voice. This is the start of Rebecca coming around. Ted says it all the time, “Hurt people hurt people.”

She’s also been a powerhouse of the west end musical theatre scene for like 20 years, she was also the shame septa on game of thrones, but finally Ted Lasso gave her a chance to shine. It’s even more lovely to know a lot of her film/TV rejection was simply due to her height being taller than the male leads. Jason Sudeikis thought she was perfect and refused to hide her height or make himself look taller and even said she should always wear heels. ❤

I also see this episode as being the start of Rebecca seeing Ted in a different way - realising he also has stuff he's going through, which until now, has been hard to see behind the humorous, folksy man he usually is. I feel her heart softens a bit helping him through his panic attack and is why she's on the the road to becoming "great again". Was looking forward to this reaction and am so glad you included so much more/made the video a bit longer. Looking forwards to seeing the rest of your reactions!

I love this because it shows Rebecca as a 3 dimensional character. She has an ulterior motive, but she's not fucking Cobra Commander. She has empathy and will not let someone going through that kind of experience suffer. I mean, you see hints of her having some integrity before (The answer is Lion! She'll be damned if someone is incorrect) and her and Keelie are friendship goals, but nice to see her definitively showing it to Ted. And I love how, from now on, I imagine Hanna walking by the writer's room saying "Do I sing in this one? I don't/ Oh... Shame if someone were to burn your house down tonight. Well, have a good one!"

I am glad you agreed with the comment last week about how Roy Kent was supposedly based off of Roy Kean. I had a couple of more comments this week. I am not sure what your names are, so if you have mentioned that I missed somehow. Anyway, for now I will just guess D on the left and N on the right. I remember from your Super Bowl reaction that D is a Kansas City Chiefs fan. So I had a couple of KC related comments since relative to the show just in case you weren't aware. My name is Mike by the way, and I live in Johnson County, Kansas which is basically a county full of suburbs on the Kansas side of the Kansas City metropolitan area. My favorite sports are football, basketball, and the other football. The order of preference for those just depends on the time of year. My favorite teams for the football that is biggest at this time of year are Bayern Munich (hope neither of you is an Arsenal fan) and Sporting Kansas City and of course the USA when that time rolls around. As far as the football that is biggest from the fall through the beginning of February my favorite team are the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Kansas (KU) and for basketball it is KU. Anyway, the reason I am bringing that up is because Jason Sudeikis (who plays Ted and created the show) is from the same area here and his interest in sports and his fandom overlaps mine in large part. He is a big fan of all of the Kansas City teams as well as KU especially for basketball. He shares his passion for all things Kansas City and KU along with two other comedic actors that almost the same age as him and grew up in very close proximity to one another in Paul Rudd and Rob Wriggle. One of Jason's other favorite things about his hometown is Kansas City BBQ. For some reason I am always seeing reactions of British people to eating Texas BBQ, but KC has the best in the world. There 4 areas particularly famous for their BBQ in the USA. Those 4 are North Carolina which is actually straight trash when it comes to their BBQ, Memphis and Texas which admittedly are both very good, and Kansas City which like I said earlier has the best BBQ in the world. Why I am bring up BBQ? Well Ted mentions it several times during the show including in the next episode which is going to be a really good one, and in this episode the shirt that he is wearing in the scene beginning 8:14 of your review where he is in his hotel room reviewing the divorce players is actually an homage to four of the best and most famous BBQ restaurants in Kansas City. It says Joe Arthur Gatestack. This is a reference to KC Joe's BBQ, Arthur Bryant's BBQ, Gates BBQ, and Jack Stack BBQ. D, you should take a trip sometime to watch a Kansas City Chiefs home game and try a couple of those places out while you are in town. On another note about Ted in the show since I mentioned Jason's fandom of different teams earlier, in episode one they mention that Ted was formerly the head coach of the Division II Wichita State (another city in Kansas) Wheat Shockers. It is kind of funny because Wichita is actually a Division I school in college basketball, but they haven't had a football team for several decades now. I surmise that he went with that choice to kind of honor is home area without picking favorites among other local universities that actually have football teams and thus annoying their rivals in the area. One more thing, I am not sure which episode it is in but he actually makes a reference to Brookridge Elementary School at some point in one of the episodes. I actually went there for grades 1 and 2 and assume that Jason must of as well although he is a little bit younger than me.

This was the episode where you realize that Rebecca is making a turn for the better. Not only did she go out to help him but she went after him in the middle of her song, meaning everyone in that room saw her go after him. They may not have known why but the fact that she went to help him without caring who saw showed that she was beginning to grow and let go of her plan to sabotage Ted.

Nate giving the pregame talk, in my mind, is Ted seeing more in Nate and empowering him to do more and give him more confidence in himself. Ted doesn't give things to people that he knows they can't handle and only wants people to be the best version of themselves...he's helping Nate grow. Roy taking the paper away from Nate was his way to see if Nate truly believed what he'd wrote...if he didn't, he wouldn't have said what was said.

16:10 To be fair to Roy, the walk-away is a *HIGHLY* advanced move when it comes to women. It is not to be attempted by the timid. But, to show a woman (especially one who is accustomed to relentless pursuit) that you have the confidence to announce interest, approach her, then turn on your heel and walk without a word.... Guaranteed to get her undivided attention.

@@wozzablog Fair assessment. And yes, I've seen lothario types do it. The trick, as in all forms of human interaction, is sincerity and self confidence. I am in a committed romantic relationship and have been for years. But, if memory serves, it is always best to be honest about one's interest without being overbearing. Leaving the ball in the opposite court not only displays self confidence, but also respect. "I've made my sentiments known, and now I leave it to you to decide whether to engage". The same thing applies to other endeavours - not only romance. It's a particularly useful networking technique. No one likes desperation, but lots of people like to be found interesting.
