This is the first time I noticed Trent's lanyard and Ted's microphone - both red. Each are symbols of their "voice".

My grandfather played on a minor league team in 1910-13. Then he became an architect after he returned fromWWI. He was a dour man when I knew him. But he loved baseball. He began teaching me the fine points when I was 3 or 4. And at 75, I still remember. He and my dad had a hard time getting on. He died in the early 60’s. My dad went to this movie and sobbed and sobbed in the last scene.

A lot of the drums you hear from the home team is the DEFENSE chant so that’s why the drums stop even if they miss the shot. The home team is back on offense now

Search for the actual guy ( young Jason Sudeikis actual high school basketball coach ). There is an interview with him and while not the TL looks his outlook and mannerisms are quite close.

I think "rightest" is a word but I don't think it's much used today as correct grammar, but they are actually referencing the movie "Do the Right Thing" by Spike Lee.

You mentioned promotion. I'm pretty sure they started the season with 7 draws and a loss so 7 points in 8 games. Championship plays 46 games so the 38 remaining games mean they have a possible 114 points left. Traditionally, it takes something like 70-75 points to get into the playoff, 90 points to get automatic promotion. So 90-7 = 83 points in 38 games to guarantee promotion and 75-7 = 68 for playoffs. So 27 wins, 2 draws, 9 losses get them to 90 points and promotion. 22 wins, 2 draws, 14 losses get them in good position to be in the playoffs. Not easy but doable for a middle-of-the-table talent level Premier League team playing in Championship.

I was shocked that the Rose Bowl in Pasadena was no selected as a venue. It has hosted a World Cup Final previously as well as a Women's World Cup. But it does lack the modern amenities even though they can cram 110,000 in there if they want to, but it's more bleacher style seating.

As a US footy fan who loves this show..things like Sam taking down Jamie on the training ground is one of the "Easter Eggs" Brendan Hunt (he fell in love with the game while living in Amsterdam, IIRC) put into a script for us. Watching this episode back when it was new, it was another occasion where I was watching with my non-football friends. They stopped playback because I was laughing so hard, and then had to explain why. I hope I've done my best to increase the popularity of the game over here!

Its possible Ted was a take on Ned, but keep in mind that decision would have been from LONG before this show. The original TV commercial for Premier League Football broadcasts in the US, starring a very early and sillier version of Ted Lasso, aired in 2013.

The movie is a different world/team than the show. Still about football and is good to watch first (because watching it after the show makes it seem more mid because the show is that good)

Sam's personality is based on actor/comedian Sam Richardson (who actually eventually makes an appearance on the show), but yeah, the activism they introduced as part of his character in this episode is inspired by a few people but, from what I've read, Marcus Rashford is the biggest one.

I feel Greinke. I'm a veteran with a masters degree and I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I'm a teacher, but I dislike being in the teachers lounge for meetings and lunch. I prefer to eat in my classroom alone and limit my interaction with co-workers to one minute greetings and that's it. I don't have any friends but I don't have enemies, and I don't do social-media and I'm happy.

Why DNReacts choose baseball? 1. Player gets to play multiple times. 2. Cricket outcomes are predictable. Let me explain you with an example If you consume something that you like very much, but in every day. It would lose its value, and you would less likely to have it. But if One player gets only chance to shine, they will give their all. Which is more satisfying and worth looking for. Secondly, the cricket outcomes are nowadays not easy to predict at all. ( if you are saying you watch IPL and other leagues, you should know) In cricket, the fun lies not only in the outcome but watching sixes, boundaries & wicket, keeping composed & patient allowing ourselves to get anxious to the point until it happens, etc.

Randy Moss is not just the best receiver of all time. He’s one of my favorite athletes of all time. Country boy, loves fishing and smokin’ trees, laid back but outspoken, funny as hell, and just catches TD’s. “Straight cash, homie!”

No one has ever been able to jump the snap like troy or had the instincts that he had, thats why his teammates called him baby jesus because he said he would hear a voice in his head before the play lol. He revolutionized the safety position and the only other safety thats in the same breath as him in nfl history is ed reed

I had a friend in high school who was close to 7ft tall, who one day got sick of the "What's the weather like up there?" joke. He was asked, and responded by spitting on the offending classmate. "It's raining!" Glad you liked the movie. Notre Dame is in Indiana. Its considered one of the best football universities in America. I would LOVE to see y'all react to Brian's Song, one of the only movies men over 50 allow themselves to cry over.

Baseball is the "sport of dreams." The sport of the open sky and open road. The sport of open-ended possibility. You _seek_ baseball as much as play it or watch it. No answers are asked for, needed, or wanted. Only the game.

If you want to watch a college football game in person here are some of your best choices. Go during rivalry week. Florida state vs Florida, Alabama vs Auburn , Ohio state vs Michigan, Texas vs Oklahoma, but if you want the biggest tailgate party in college football then you need to got to the Georgia vs Florida game held in Jacksonville fl. Any of those games will leave you speechless.
