Addendum 3/30/2022:
Army Council Instruction 414 issued in April 1940 stated “that, in future, the make and date of the manufacture of ammunition packed in cartons, in cases charger and in bandoliers, will not be shown on the strip band on the cartons, on the small label on the cases charger, nor on the stamping on the bandoliers.”
Australia and Canada clearly did not follow this A.C.I. as many post 1940 bandoliers from these countries include load stamps. India, on the other hand, may have followed this directive, as 1939 is the latest dated load stamp I have seen.

Outstanding content and presentation, and great music. Thanks for taking the time to put this together - hope you’ll continue to add more esoteric content from your fabulous collection - maybe another untold story, mess tin covers ? Thanks again, great stuff indeed.

Great video and very informative. One issue though, the statement that the bandolier allowed the British soldier to carry almost double the ammunition compared with the German soldier is wrong. British webbing carried 30x 5rd chargers, the bandolier 10 chargers, total is 40. The German equipment carried 24x 5rd chargers, their bandolier carried 14, for a total if 38. Certainly not "almost double". If each man were to wear 2x bandoliers, the British man's total would increase to 50 chargers, the German to 52.
