One of my favourite car museums - been there many times. That MG SA is a beautiful car and in fantastic condition. It can hold its own against Rolls Royce, Bentleys and Jaguars of the the era. I alway like to say hello to 33EJB when I visit too! :-)

Very interesting content, but, and it is a big but, when I was age 12 I never could keep the movie camera steady, I kept waving it around. Sadly, that lesson has not been learnt in this film.

Looks like Jag gave/loaned them a good few cars. Is that a genuine D-Type Jag ?

Brian Green - I should have said, that is where Jaguar house their collection too, so yes it's all genuine, kind regards

The ground floor of the Collections Centre building (next to the main museum) houses the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust collection, which used to be kept at Brown's Lane. The upper floor houses the "overflow" from the main BMM collection.

Too bad about the crappy KZbin music. It spoiled the video.

Such a pity that everything has to be bolted down (secured).

They certainly have a Metropolitan and a Consul Mk1. I think there's an A55 too (there's certainly the Westminster version).

I kept waiting for the lights to go out, but I guess they didn’t use Lucas electrics in the building.

@chrispenn7155 жыл бұрын
@@sep2890 The displays do change from time to time - think there was a Morgan on show last time I visited. Although its called the British Motor Museum, the collection is based on cars from BMC/BL/Rover (including Jaguar/Daimler and Triumph) so there aren't many Fords, Hillmans, Vauxhalls etc. Coventry motor museum has a good mix of other makes including Rootes Group and its free to entry!

Communist infiltration of the AUEW combined with a vicious attack on the unions and British industry by Bichess Thatcher. She could have just set the security agencies on routing out and quietly killing the infiltrators. In the end she was really as bad as the infiltrators, just at the other end of the political spectrum.

The British car industry boardrooms: marketing rather than development; badge engineering rather than improved panel fit; disrespect of the engineers.

I know what killed the British sports car - the Datsun 240Z. All the British companies could afford to build were the same old MGBs now with rubber snouts and the Triumph TR-7, a car designed by committee. The 240 killed them dead as shit. Lack of development of any kind of new car, labour troubles, politics. There were many reasons but the Datsun 240 was a new, affordable car that everyone wanted. No one wanted a smogged, raised-suspension, rubber bumpered MG. Same old shit in a nasty bag.
