Hello Ericsurf6 Anchovies cabbage is not UK food. The Roast Beef looked a bit on the meager sizes. In a Roast Beer Dinner you would get hot roast Beef , Roast Potatoes, some kind of vegetables (Carrot ,Cabbage, Corn, Peas ect) then Yorkshire Puddings and loads of Gravy and Horse Radish. We also Don't have Chinese Pancake Roll with just Shrimp in them. I think the Hub British Pub is a British meal for Japanese People not British people as I'm from the UK and do not see that as British food. Nrver heard of a Fish Dog before here in the UK. For one there was no Vinegar for the Chips and no Mushy Peas And small portion you would need at least two to be considered a meal. What was that Onion Thing suppose to be not Cornbeef Hash. In the UK Cornbeef Hash is a Tin or slice Cornbeef in Mashed Potatoes and Onions with a little cheese on the top (or not) to brown and make the top crispy. You eat it with HP Sauce. The Meat Pie has been crossed with a Cornish Pasty filling with a Sausage Roll Pastry. Still look good this one though but with HP Sauce not Tomatoes Sause. You should come to the UK and try tradition British Food. I think you would love it here and you could try our tradition Pies , Sausage Rolls and Desserts with Custard and Ice Cream. ( Not custard and Ice Cream together). I think if you were to come to the uk and try Britisg Foods you would have to give it a 6 Eric Heads review. What you think Ericsurf6? UK is waiting for you.?? It’s not even close it’s like it’s made up !! Spring rolls there is no pub that serves spring rolls or fried crispy pasta for a snack 🤣🤣 you would have pork scratchings, peanuts. Or a salad with kale 😂. British pub food is. Fish and chips Pie and mash Sausage and mash Burgers Steaks Lasagne British curry A fry up / cooked breakfast Shepherds pie Cottage pie Etc.

We're not complaining, we're just pointing out that if something claims it's British then it should be British. We're proud of being British. It's our patriotism :) It's like saying French people eat baguettes every day, they don't. It's a pretend British pub. And if you like the food there and come to Britain, you'll have a shock. I went to England almost 25 years ago when hard cider hadn't really become popular yet in America so I'd never had one. Went to a local pub in London, and the locals were so nice buying me round after round of hard cider... they must have all had a good laugh knowing what was going to happen to me the morning after I had 7 or 8 pints of cider. I will never forget the amazing fish and chips I had the next day, they made up for the hangover and then some.

Malt vinegar for that Fish & Chips, and tartar sauce. Sorry, chopsticks have no place in British cuisine. The Meat pies are proper fair but where's the Bangers and Mash, Toad in a Hole and maybe a Plowman's Lunch? All great British Pub fair. Was that Guinness cold or cellar temp? They went to great extent to make the place look "British" but then made the food more to the Japanese taste. Which is too bad because real British Pub fair is wonderful. I give the video a 6 but the Pub a 4.

Hi Eric! I thought the fish and chips looked yummy but I would need some malt vinegar for the fish. I like the idea of a fish dog and the shrimp spring rolls....delicious. Here (US) I've had the whole baked onion but we do it differently. Take an onion (current off ends and remove outer skin) place in foil. Cut the onion in quarters without cutting all the way through to the bottom of the onion. Put 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 beef bullion cube inside the cuts you made. Wrap foil around tightly and bake at 350 for 40 to 60 minutes, until onion is soft. Oh my it's delicious. Thanks for taking us along, definitely different food this time! Cheers!

Im British and I eat my fish & chips absolutely drowning in vinegar & covered in salt. Only way to do it. Also, there's a very good cider brewery in America called "Angry Orchard" - try their "Crisp Apple" variety. Very good.

Worcestershire sauce is pronounced 'wooster-sheer' and you would never, ever, ever put it on fish and chips. Also fish dogs don't exist, fish spring rolls don't exist, anchovy cabbage doesn't exist (who the hell would ever think of that?), onion in paper thing doesn't exist and that is nothing like corned beef. The meat pies look very tasty but not like anything in the UK - they are more a mix of a sausage roll and a Cornish pasty. You also never eat a pasty with ketchup. Cider is, indeed, lovely.

Its got a fairly authentic "UK Chain pub" look to it. If you get chance, try proper UK Scrumpy - that cider will probably be Strongbow or equivalent which is mass produced Cabbage and Anchovie - never heard of that as a UK dish tbh. Fish n Chips looked pretty good, though never heard of a fish dog (it did look rather good ). Corned-Beef Hash - Not quite what I'd call corned-beef hash although there are numerous variations of the dish across the UK

As someone from the UK about the only thing I would be able to buy in a pub here is the beers and fish and chips...and even then the fish is nothing like we would have. Not to say it is bad because I am sure it isn't, but for them to advertise as a british style pub, I expected a lot more similarities than there were. Edit: I forgot to mention the so called "meat pies" are what we would call a sausage roll, except usually wouldn't have potatoes, veg etc in it. seems like you got a cross between a Cornish pasty and a sausage roll, which probably just sounds odd to someone who doesn't know these foods as a common food.

It's the same in most countries that they'll make more of a hybrid of British and local recipes, and the only place I've found fairly authentic food is in the colonies that still have a good amount of expats.

I once looked at the menu of a 'dutch' pub in prague (as a dutchman) and you would see literally none of the classic dutch bar snacks (grilled cheese sandwiches, bitterballen), basically the only dutch thing abt it was that they had heineken on draft lol

That was an interesting meal time. It reminds me of restaurants in the states, TGIF, Green Turtle, sports bars type. There’s a place called Go Brit! I’ve been to in Delaware, fantastic fish and chips!!!

If you come to London, you can get a decent fried breakfast at a JD Wetherspoons pub.Say about £6 for double egg, double sausage and double bacon, baked beans, tomato, mushroom, 2 slices of toast. Coffee or tea £1-2 extra, for unlimited refills of either.

In Scotland we have some of the best fish and chips in the world, depending where you go in Scotland, some takeaways serve the fish with vinegar and salt and some places with brown sauce (like a vinegar taste) but at home/restaurants we usually get tartar, hope that clears it up for you haha :) also that thing you called a meat pie was like a mixture of what we would call cornish pasty meat inside a sausage roll casing. I wonder where this pub did there research for there menu 😂😂🤔

After America fell in love with gluten free stuff, cider beer became fairly popular, as its a gluten free way to get a beer. Some varieties will use different types of apples for differing flavor. You can mix other fruits in for some additional flavor variety, I once tried a cider with habanero brewed in it as well. Redd's Apple ale is a mainstream cider found in many bars and on shelves in the US.

There’s a bunch of ciders in the states now some are even stronger than 4% but if we’re talking about mikes lemonade there’s a lemonade that is 9%alc called fishers island which is amazing!
