I'm really happy that Isaac feels comfortable enough to express his uncertainty around some foods, and everyone is perfectly okay with him not eating if he doesn't want to. This warms my heart because the KE team are so encouraging and also understanding when it comes to trying things outside of someone's comfort zone, and for them to not force or push Isaac to eat the eel liver and stomach is just very lovely to see - you can tell everyone genuinely cares for one another and I think that's what makes every video with Bunva so fun to watch! Thank you so much to the KE team for bringing Buvna out to Korea - this series has been mind-blowing

I like that he still tried it after waiting to see their reactions. I think that's totally acceptable to do with such unfamiliar food! I mean, I LOVE eel and I've never had the liver/stomach before, let alone the bile (LOL!). Even though he was uncertain, he was still willing to give it a shot once his friends had.

yeah I’m half Korean and a picky eater so I spent many a childhood memory there avoiding certain foods. (And still do.) Albeit I don’t believe the cuisine is that extreme for a play it safe palette. Anyway it really warms my heart to see people really open up to things. I appreciate the culture even more through them.

I'd imagine they would treat it, at worst, like how they view the korean toast stall they made. Not necessarily for a huge profit, just more of the love of the food/culture and wanting to share it. Which has always been the biggest part. I don't think Josh/Ollie compare for example the British Twins trip to the High Schoolers. The other way to look at it, if they were that full-scoping their videos, is this is a dual sided investment. Helps get their friends more publicity for their channels/careers too. Even like Guvna opening his YT account in Korea for example and potentially uploading something while there could dramatically change the potential audience that get recommended his videos.

FYI, if you are curious about the taste of eel BBQ, it tastes like fatty chicken. Eel naturally has a lot of saturated fat (way more than salmon) with Vitamins and Zinc.

And one reason to like about it is that it lowers blood pressure too so it’s a popular food amongst elderly as well. The grilled eel is similar to how unagi and anago kabayaki as well.

It's so dang awesome that Josh is willing to steer his guests (and us) over to a delicious eel situation, when BBQ, KFC and other "safer" foods have mostly been the norm thus far. This channel always manages to keep things fresh and authentic enough 🙂 My partner and I are working on an "eel in Seoul" episode for our channel right now, and I just can't get over how tasty grilled eel can be over here. Koreans truly know how to take any ingredient and bring it to the most heavenly level of flavor and texture 🙏

Wow, the food looks great and great to see you guys eager to try new food! Just wanted to clarify that eel sauce is not made with parts of the eel but is just a sauce typically paired with eel. I believe its usually made with soy sauce, sugar and mirin.

I totally know that place. It has to be Yeongdong Freshwater Eel in Gangnam I sat in that exact table because I recognize the two coolers on the right hand side where they store the alcoholic beverages. It was one of the best eel I ever had. I'm hoping to go back again sometime this year.
