Imo college is much more supported is because each team is operated by the universities instead of just rich billionaires, so any one that’s ever went to school there or had someone in their family go to school there is a supporter. It’s much more like soccer in England where the identity of the club is tied to the local area rather than just being there to make money like the NFL.

In that game where they tore down the goal posts, Tennessee beat Alabama. Alabama is consistently one of the best teams in College Football. It was a home game for Tennessee.

I was at the first game when Wisconsin played "Jump Around", the whole upper deck sways. They called in the Army Core Of Engineers that week to make sure it is safe to play the song

The clip where they tear down the goal post was awesome. It’s from the university of Tennessee. We finally beat our rival Alabama after years of losing to them and that year we were back in national championship contention. People don’t rush the field often because your team will get fined. But every now and then it happens. It was an amazing game.

They do this before games to create a hostile atmosphere. And yes, it's bigger in some parts of the country than the NFL.
