Oh surely so! No one will EVER sing this better than Gabriel did again. What he did with the song was magical. Didn't even sound like the same song. He made this completely his own! Michael who? Michael was an entertainer not a vocalist, while Gabriel is a great vocalist. Big difference. He keeps getting better and better with each song and I sometimes don't understand how he does it. I'm just thankful that I'm here to experience the joys of it. Thanks for both of your reactions to this magnificent performance. Stu ❤

I love Michael Jackson’s writing and he’s amazingly prolific. As a songwriter myself, I think his ability to write soooo many great songs is mind-boggling. Yes, I love his dance moves too, but I’ve never been a fan of his vocal tone. He has quiet and screech and not a whole lot in between. I agree that once you get to Michael’s level of stardom, receiving criticism for ANYTHING you do is rare. Still, many, many of his songs are simply iconic and I love them even if I don’t love his voice singing them. As for Gabriel, I thought his cover was/is amazing! Off the charts amazing. He never ceases to astound me with his limitless capacity in both his vocal quality, technique and true pitch, but also for his amazing ability - virtuosic, really - to make covers his own, even to make them better by his choices. He is a powerhouse of a singer and communicator. I will never tire of hearing him, and love to listen to his voice for hours…on repeat! He has TWO new covers out: “Believe” by Cher. His version is an upgrade in my opinion, and an hour ago he put out a new one by Arrowsmith. I never cease to be thankful for how fast and prolific Gabriel is. We really are spoiled. The man is a MACHINE. He puts out one-take wonders that would make other artists run for the hills, in an almost indecent, fast-lane pace. He’s truly an alien. And I’m so thankful for him, ‘cause I’m a glutton for his performances. Three days go by and I’m like, “Where’s Gabriel’s next song? Should be any day now!”
