Loriot has its own class of humor. Lorit aka Baron Christoph-Carl von Bülow, the stage name Loriot is the French word for oriole. The bird is the heraldic animal of the von Bülow family.

There is also a video pneumatische Plastologie online, another weird Scientist from Loriot. And "Weihnachten bei den Hoppenstedts" a typical German Christmas. Loriot's partner Evelyn Hamann as a television announcer would also be interesting for a Brit. In it she announces the 8th part of a multi-part British soap about English rural nobility. Just like TV announcers did in the 1970s. That means she had to briefly summarize everything that had happened in the previous 7 episodes. Unfortunately, all the people and place names in the soap are terribly English and the family relationships complicated. Each name contains at least one S and two TH. There's an English Wiki-article about it "Englische Ansage". The text of the announcement is also available in a book. I have been trying to read it aloud once or twice a year without making any mistakes for at least 30 years. I've never managed it. Even British friends of mine haven't made it, not even in English translation.

Loriot was a very big dog lover. He coined a sentence: "Ein Leben ohne Möpse ist möglich, aber nicht lebenswert." "A life without pugs is possible but not worth living..." But at the same time that was a hidden suggestiveness, because in German the word "Möpse" is also used for boobs...

No, he did not say this. He used the singular. "Ein Leben ohne Mops ist möglich aber sinnlos" (A life without pug is possible but senseless). And so it has no sexual innuendo.

The Joke is the kind of talk between the guys. To symbolize that nonsens in this overformalized conversation, Loriot placed an absolute absurd vehicle.... That dog... The secret concerning Loriots Humor it's aside the object... It's the Form. Quite Not that easy for recepients without a natural aproach for that language.
