@benjaminlynch9958
@benjaminlynch9958 4 жыл бұрын
Official capacity listed on Wikipedia is 106,572 with a record crowd (standing room only?) of 110,889 in 2018. By comparison Wembley has a capacity of 90,000, and that is by far the largest stadium in the U.K. Also worth pointing out that not all the crowds are this big in American Sports and those that are aren’t always this loud. The ones you’re seeing in these clips are (1) playoffs where intensity is super high for both players and fans, (2) college games where a large percentage of fans are 18-22 year old kids with varying amounts of alcohol in their blood, and/or (3) rivalries between two teams and sets of fans that hate each other - akin to ManU vs Liverpool or Arsenal vs Spurs, Celtic vs Rangers, etc. Lastly, if you ever come to America to watch some of these games, do your homework on the atmosphere and the ticket prices. Some games and some stadiums are much more expensive than others, and that also influences who’s buying the tickets. If you want a premium experience with lots of atmosphere and a big rivalry, expect to pay at least $100 per ticket to walk in the door, and prices go up from there. Most NFL games are going to cost more, as will games for any sport in cities like New York, Boston, and sometimes L.A. and Chicago. As a bucket list experience - totally worth it IMO, but know what you’re getting into before booking your flight and hotel.

My favorite fan reaction clips are the ones where they show how fans reacted in the local bars. They do that a lot during playoff games. They'll set up a camera in a bar outside the stadium (where the tvs will all be playing the game) and then whenever a huge play happens they will show the bar's reaction. Those are great because it goes from quiet, bated breath to sudden pandemonium in a split second with beer flying everywhere. It's awesome.

I know this sounds silly coming from a random viewer, and it obviously may not be possible due to financial reasons etc. but you should really consider traveling to the U.S. and watching sporting events. Each sport has a different season, but if you came around December, you could watch hockey, football, NASCAR, and basketball. If you came around September, you could watch baseball, MLS soccer, and football. Just something to think about that I would definitely recommend!

It maybe possible. The MLB playoffs usually run through to early November. The NBA season starts near the end of october. Nascar will still be going on. the NHL season starts at the beginning of October. The Nfl seasom starts in september. the Mls will still be going on. So if he came in October he could possibly witness all of them

12:31 was the University I went to. That clip was from my senior year. We were 10-0 at that point playing our biggest rivals who were 9-1. The winner of that game went to the conference championship game. Our undefeated season was on the line and USF had just tied the game making it 42-42. UCF ran the ball back on the ensuing kick off to take the lead back with only about two minutes left in the game. It was absolutely bananas. UCF went on to win the game, the conference championship, the Peach Bowl, went 13-0 and was the only division one team to go undefeated that year. We may have also controversially claimed a national championship too but we won't get into that here.

A "Curtain Call" in a live baseball game is something you will always remember being involved in if ever blessed to be at playoff game. A "Curtain Call" is when a game tying, game leading, or game winning Homerun is hit and the whole stadium is going bananas basically halting the game by refusing to sit down and continuing to cheer and scream for the guy who hit the Homerun to come out of the dugout and take a wave to the crowd again. It's as if the whole stadium is showing love and respect and giving him a standing ovation.... Absolutely Incredible

The first video is Indiana University vs the University of Kentucky; They are *bitter* rivals in basketball (Indiana and Kentucky are states that border each other) with UK having the edge over the past few years. They're playing in Assembly Hall, IU's home court and at that time IU was unranked (The NCAA has a Top 25 ranking for the country) and UK was ranked #1. After that UK has refused to return to Assembly Hall and IU refuses to cater to them (They only want to play at Rupp Arena, their home arena)

You need some context for that second one: game 7 (last one) of the series, Bruins were down 4-1 to start the last period. Scored a goal halfway through to make it 4-2. 1:22 left in the game they made it 4-3. 32 seconds later (50 seconds left) they made it 4-4. They took it to OT and scored that goal to end it. 3 goals down in an elimination game at home, came back to win it out of nowhere.

Now you should do crowd silencers after this. If you do want to experience the best stadium atmosphere, if you ever get the chance, you have to come to Baton Rouge La or New Orleans. I may sound biased, but #1 the tailgating is the best because of the food and music. #2 the loudest, most passionate fan bases. Even the College Gameday hosts admit that Baton Rouge is their favorite place to have their show broadcasted from, and no sportsfan should ever miss.

There are some loud reactions here from the professional leagues in North America (NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL) but quite a few of these reactions are from college football and college basketball. University sports are BIG business here in the States, and student sections at (filled with young people in their late teens and early 20s) really provide a good amount of atmosphere at football and basketball games. And when you have a thrilling finish to a game, the greater the chance the students will storm the field or court... what you English call a "pitch invasion."

@4:40 - having great/ loud fans is like having an "extra man"! Seattle Seahawks really made the term "12th man" popular (NFL has 11 players on the field at any given play). As they can be so loud, it makes it hard for the opponents to communicate when on offense.

If you keep this up on youtube, there will be chances for you to come out here and experience it. I would suggest to anyone who is out of the states who wants to become a fan of a sport, watch some games, decide which team for yourself. Sometimes people will come out to a state for example New York, and think they are gonna experience good sporting events especially since its a premiere city. That isnt the case, New york hasnt had a good winning team in years. The best way is to probably look up a city thats doing well, and if they are matched up with a team with a good record, check that game out, most likely its gonna be electric. BTW, the clips you are watching are game winners that were close till the end, huge comebacks, and plays that turned the tide, come from behind wins. All recipes for things that make crowds over here go insane

I saw his last Cup Series race in person and it was amazing. We call ourselves Jr Nation and we shake an entire city when he takes the lead. 2:10 is at Penn State University's Beaver Stadium which fits between 110,000 to 112,000 people depending on how much standing room only tickets they sell.

I vividly remember my reaction to 6:20 which was to yell "FUUUUUUUUUUCK!" in a crowded bar along with everyone else. Even though the Cubs wound up winning that game and the World Series it still gives me the sweats to see it.

That run by Marshawn Lynch caused such a fan reaction, that it actually caused a detectable earthquake nearby.

React to 1984 World Series when Detroit Tiger Gibby (Kirk Gibson) hit a three run homer in the last inning. PURE TIGER GOLD. Basically anything Detroit related - us sport fans know how to do it!! Also, the whole story behind the Red Wing tragedy that occurred about a week after they won the championship in 1987. A handful of teammates were injured, some critically. That was followed by the 1998 win when team captain Steve Yzerman handed the Stanley Cup to the injured and now partially paralyzed Vladimir Konstantinov.

Luka, for some context for the clip at 5:50 that makes it even crazier: Auburn vs Alabama is by far the biggest rivalry in college football. They play each other every season in their last game. Both are big colleges in Alabama, and Alabama is usually the best team in the nation, and Auburn is usually not quite as good, but they’re usually top 25 in the nation. In this game, Alabama was 1 and Auburn was 4.

The Earthquake Game was a college football game in which the crowd reaction after an important play registered as a small earthquake. Played in front of a crowd of 79,431 at LSU's Tiger's Stadium on October 8, 1988, LSU upset No. 4 Auburn 7-6.

2:46 No it isn't the end of the game, but this is why I love college basketball. Probably what is happening there is that the home team has gone on a scoring run to pull away from the other team. Who is a higher ranked team, so an upset could end up happening. The crowd is just really excited that their team is kicking the other team's butt right now.

Dude, if you ever make it across the pond, I'd totally host you for a couple of nights and a game or two. One of the best times is about a month from now. You can see a basketball game, a hockey game and opening day for baseball. Right in the middle of NASCAR season too. Football is a winter sport but overlaps baseball season in the fall and basketball and hockey in the later winter. Anyway, do a little fundraising and networking and you should be able to pull off a pretty sick trip. Do a few live reactions of your first games. Folks would eat that up.

If you want to go to an MLB game, there is a Cubs vs Cardinals game happening in London this season. I’m not sure when, but maybe you could check it out. They’re two pretty intense rivals and it should be a great game.
