British soldier returns to Ukraine after life-changing injury - BBC News

Shareef Amin was seriously injured fighting with the Ukrainian army has returned to the conflict after recovering in the UK.
He was lucky to survive after being hit multiple times by Russian fire on the frontlines.
In December he was evacuated to the UK, following surgeries to save his arm and leg in a military hospital in Odessa.
"I didn't know whether I'd ever be able to operate as a soldier or a humanitarian again," he said.

These Russians and Separatists have deliberately embedded themselves into civilian residential areas and fired their projectiles and missiles from there. Unfortunately, some civilians inevitably get caught up in return fire and become not only shields for the invaders and separatists but also victims. For those separatists who want to become Russian, all they had to do in 2014 was emigrate over the border into their Motherland and thus avoid bloodshed and suffering.

I Served 3 months, on my way back. It is crazy how you can leave Ukraine but Ukraine never leaves you. I live in Ukraine still, mentally. I must have my Daily fix of news from the war, and everything else that is normal, is on hold. The war in Ukraine needs to be settled down, nothing else matters almost. I thought the symptoms of PTS and Combat fatuige ( War fatuige) were permanent as I went home, I thought in my head ( I guess this is forever now ) but I recovered pretty well to my surpirse and fast and thus I started longing to go back and serve again. I never thought I would want to go back when I resigned. Crazy.
