I'm very glad to see a new British Steam Whistles compilation, as this is the content that brought me to your channel in the first place! Please keep the quality rail footage coming!

American steam whistles are always super loud, throaty and imposing sounding, but these British ones almost remind me of the extremely varied calls of birds.

I don't like Bullied whistles, but the other types are music to my ears. My favourite type of steam engine whistle is the Swindon Whistle, of God's Wonderful Railway status. I love GWR steamies, like Foxcote Manor, best of all.

Thanks for the video! As an American, I always wondered why the European steam engines seemed to have high pitched whistles compared to ours. Would it be due to a lack of grade crossings compared to many of our railroads?

It's generally that we tend to use the bell whistle much more often than a chime whistle, a bell whistle creates a much higher pitch!
