Polish population in the UK went from about 1.2 million to about 650k in 2023. Most came back to Poland or migrated elsewhere (mostly Germany). Most planned to go back anyway, but Brexit sped the process up exponentially. Not because of racism they might have experienced after the vote. It happened simply because Brexit, alongside Covid, war on Ukraine et cetera, crippled the British economy so much that it is no longer a viable place to stay in for an unwanted immigrant, especially with Poland's economy expanding rapidly to a point where the same Poles that came here in 2004 because the salaries and standard of living was like 5 or 6 times better compared to what they had back home, now changed into a pretty comparable situation - with Britain still being much wealthier of course, but mostly for the wealthy, while the working class gets scraps. So why would they live away from their families, friends, their home, kinfolk and country, if it only grants them like... 20% more money? My point is, the eastern europeans mentioned in this video (so mostly Poles, Lithuanians and Latvians) have been evacuating out of Britain en masse, and you're talking about missing your country as if they're taking over or something... sounds like an old man who doesn't realise he misses being young, and his country has nothing to do with it

First of all the guy in the video wasn’t even black. LOL and secondly you can’t compare the migration of Black people to this since many of the black people that came to England were from the carribean, hence spoke English just with an accent or African and learned to speak English. There might be a few areas with black communities but they never came over and tried to terror-form the country to be like their own. They adapted. As Eastern European’s fill the country they set up shops that only cater to their own and shops that don’t even have English signs on them. Look at London, how many black owned businesses are there? Even many of the black Afro hair and beauty shops are owned by Asians(Indians or Chinese). You go to any major city in the world they will be small pockets of communities that cater more to a specific group like in the US where you have China town, Korea town, little Haiti, little Italy and so on but those are just little pockets. People who are home sick will visit those areas or shop for things they used to have in their native lands. In London China Town is a small area. Their are small areas that have Jewish communities and business.Their is no equivalent for blacks. The areas that were predominantly black in the 80s are no longer and even when they were it was nothing like what we see today with the Eastern European’s. So yeah....big difference. As for me, I’m no racist, my favourite society/communities are those that are mixed and cosmopolitan but I do have a problem when a group comes in and changes a mixed community to predominantly Eastern European or any other group because the culture changes as well as the language.

We have in Czech republic many Slovakians and Ukraines. I work in one company, where is 20% of Slovakians, they don't speak czech even after 10 years, because you understand them about 98%. Everyone can study czech highschools for free in czech. So we have many slovakians (about 20% of students), some Ukraines, Russians and some other east students, or from Izraels too. We all pay their studying from our taxes. Why? Because many of them stays here, or go to West, or back to home. But the contacts stay here. I understand this UK problem, but you profit on them. They are happy to work for peanuts send it home and they are happy with that. Point I was making is that there are no incentives for a UK based employer to give jobs to native Brits when they can hire equally uneducated labor from abroad that will probably complain less and work harder for a lower wage. Basic economics. Your anger should not be pointed at people that came to UK to make a better life, it should be pointed at your very own countrymen that give them jobs over you.

Migrants working for lower wages translates to lower prices overall. If you pay your workers less, you can charge less, thus becoming more competitive in the market. Basic economics. Furthermore, most of them worked in jobs that had shortage of labor, so it's not like they robbed native Brits of their jobs. They contributed to the economy more than they extracted. Problems you are facing now in UK have very little to do with migrant workers from the eastern bloc, they are mostly a result of your government policies, and the crisis in health sector is about austerity measures. And it seems to me that your personal problems aren't a result of Poles doing low paying manual labor jobs, they are a result of you not being competitive in the job market - even if you did work at a gas station instead of someone from Poland, you wouldn't be any better off in reality. And for the last time, I am not an immigrant, nor do I live in UK, nor am I from Poland (or from a country that is in EU for that matter) nor do I have any desire to live in UK, so please understand that I'm not emotionally invested in this topic like you are, because if you decided to look at this entire thing rationally, you would promptly come to a conclusion that cleaning shit never payed well and that nobody wants it, but somebody always had to do it for the society to function, and that is the point behind majority of migrant labor. Aim higher than cleaning shit if you want your lot in life to improve.

I did the remainder of my primary education here, then Secondary and then college and finally university. It wasnt my choice to move, but now ive settled here and living away from home. My English is now far better than my Lithuanian, ive got a British girlfriend of 5 years. It wasnt my choice to move as I stated earlier, and Ive embraced the language and the culture to the fullest.
