The UK isn't perfect but it's done alot of good in the world, ending world slavery would be our biggest achievement, it cost the UK government so much money to do it that we only finished paying off nearly 200 years of loans in around 2016. They are there only to transport weapon and vehicles. Ukraine isn't a NATO member so sending troops would mean an unneeded escalation. Sending weapons and humanitarian aid is the best option for now. War is a vary expensive thing especially in modern times where the cost of highly advanced weapons like rockets is unbelivable. Russia has it's own internal problems in country so it's a trembling giant; if this war wouldn't be decisive in the first few days then the cost of this "operation" would ruin Russia and Putin.

A large proportion of commenters seem to have misunderstood some things. Many appear to think that these British troops are going to Ukraine and that Estonia is a just a stop on their way to Ukraine. These British troops are actually not going to Ukraine: Estonia is their final destination. Also, Estonia is located quite far from Ukraine, so travelling from the UK to Ukraine via Estonia wouldn't make any sense. Estonia is a NATO country and there is no war going on in Estonia. The British troops are just going to Estonia for training. There is no plan to involve them in combat. Because of this, there is not much reason to think that the British troops won't eventually be back in the UK safely. The presence of troops from other NATO countries in Estonia is meant to deter Putin from scheming to invade Estonia. It's unlikely that Putin will actually launch an invasion of Estonia in the near future but it's better to be prepared anyway. The troops from other NATO countries are in Estonia because Estonia invited them there. As an Estonian I am grateful for the presence of British troops in Estonia.
