I like how on the new steam engine it has a Lego brick built wheel to give it a impression that its the main driving wheel, and it looks so Victorian-esque especially when traversing over that bridge like its straight out of the 1880's.
@Britishbricks2 жыл бұрын
Really love the brick-built wheel, even though it's not functional it definitely looks the part! Couldn't agree more. I really love the Victorian vibe of the bridge, I'm hoping to emulate that aesthetic into the layout - mixed with some late 80s' LEGO nostalgia!
@jamieolberding77312 жыл бұрын
@@Britishbricks I strongly agree. Ooh..... that reminds me. You should definitely add some little hidden LEGO easter eggs like Harry Potter (Such as Ron Weasley's Ford Anglia 105E Car) and Doctor Who (Like a few LEGO Daleks, Weeping Angels, and of course the Doctor's Tardis which would be a very nice little touch to a LEGO Train Layout)............ to name a few. You should also add a few fishing boats/or barges going underneath your LEGO bridge too. I read A LOT of "Model Railroader Magazines", and I usually get new "Model Railroader Magazines" at the end of EACH month, and they come in very very very handy in coming up with ideas on how you want to design your model Train Layout. My Parents and I still haven't yet decided on building a model Train layout yet maily due to SPACE issues, time, and also my parents are usually very very busy in their own jobs.

That benchwork looks fantastic! Any plans to go full MILS with the landscaping?
@Britishbricks2 жыл бұрын
I personally don't think MILS is necessary, I know a lot of big KZbinrs are using it on their layout (as have most train communities for a while) but it seems like a waste of bricks. If I need to raise something up with a lot of bricks, I rather use a piece of foam or something that you won't ever see. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
@andrewmazzarini27422 жыл бұрын
@@Britishbricks I see why you'd shy away, it's pretty cost-prohibitive. I'm working on converting a bunch of my buildings to MILS right now for my layout; I've ordered enough parts to convert 16 different buildings (some of which aren't in my hands yet because they're Bricklink Designer pre-orders) and I've already exceeded the cost of the average Modular building. I'm sticking with MILS though, for the ease of running electronics cables around the layout. I'm planning on installing lighting kits in the buildings and Trixbrix's remote-operated switch motors all over the layout so I can run things like a traditional model train layout; putting the wires under the terrain is gonna keep everything as clean as possible. Still, can't wait to see your layout come alive!
@Britishbricks2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewmazzarini2742 Fitting wires is certainly something I'll have to consider. MILS definitely has it's benefits, especially transportation, but for a static display that I don't intend on taking anywhere, foam inserts will do for now :)
