The penalty for miles jack (#16 for Pittsburgh) is when a runner slides, they are giving up on the play and are marked down where they begin to slide. So it's essentially hitting a defenseless player. You need to come across the pond next year for a Bills game.
@tygrkhat40876 ай бұрын
The penalty was for unnecessary roughness, not roughing the passer. As Scott said, for hitting a defenseless player.
@TomMcArdle176 ай бұрын
Also, each team gets two challenges. If they get both right, then they can have a third. Because the Bills second challenge failed, they get no more for the rest of the game.

If you slide the way Josh did at ANY position they’re gonna throw a flag… as soon as you start your slide the play is considered over
@dannysmith7166 ай бұрын
This goes for any QB
@StephenDail6 ай бұрын
@@dannysmith716 Any player. It's just QBs are the players you typically see slide. But you'll see other ball carriers slide on occasion (one example is near the end of a game to ensure they're "tackled" in bounds and keep the clock running.) The penalty for late hit is more likely to get called when a QB is the ball carrier though. And that is part of the reason people don't agree with when it's called.

That call against the hit on Allen, the flag is because the defender lead with his head when he went for the tackle, and also because it was clear Allen was already sliding. Cheers!

Also funny enough: the past few days before the game, the Buffalo area had a major snowstorm. Enough to move the date of the game. And they asked Bills fans to help shovel the snow at the Bills Stadium. And many did show up lol

Yes the chiefs have to come here to Buffalo should be a great game I hope it's buffalos time to finally get over the KC playoff hurdle... The penalty on hitting the QB while running happened due to Allen going for the slide it's basically him giving himself up the fact the defense committed to the hit after he gave him self up is the issue .. Most QBs slide because they can't handle the hit... Allen is a different breed and doesn't slide often
@sundalangur32506 ай бұрын
13:30 is a penalty because the QB was "giving himself up" by sliding. That's gonna get called 90% of the time. Especially if it looks like there's a shot to the head because players aren't supposed to do that anyway. Defender is supposed to defy physics and change his momentum to avoid the tackle.
@areguapiri6 ай бұрын
Once it's obvious that it is a designed run, he must not be considered special. He is a runner, just like a running back, wide receiver, or tight end.
@sundalangur32506 ай бұрын
@areguapiri technically, he's not considered special. Any ball carrier is allowed to slide to indicate they're giving up the play. Once a player slides the play is dead. Any hit by the defense after that is likely to result in a penalty.

The Bills do get KC next week, at home, at last. Let's go, Buffalo! Allen's 52 yard touchdown run was apparently the longest run for a TD by a QB in the playoffs .
@bryanflanagan61446 ай бұрын
Close! Second longest. Kaep had a 56yd one against the Packers in the playoffs in 2013 #GoBills
@T.R.756 ай бұрын
the penalty for the hit on Allen was because QBs in the NFL when they slide, are protected. if they slide, any contact is a flag. its only for QBs, and its to keep them healthy, because QB play is what drives the league.

The Steelers have a rich history. Pittsburgh was one of the main steel towns in the USA. In the early days, many of the players were actually steel workers. The name reflects the identity of the town...tough, blue collar workers. The Steelers have won the Super Bowl 6 of their 8 appearances. Unfortunately, Buffalo has never won the Super Bowl despite going 4 years in a row.

Man when bass missed that field goal with 2 mins left, when he kicked that ball it sounded like a brick haha so cold. But gotta sink that. It was an extra point basically.

It looked like his plant foot slipped slightly which threw off his kicking motion and that caused him to pull the kick to the left.

I know people explained the penalty to you. On a related note, defenders are in a horrible position especially with Allen because he’s so big and so strong and usually does not slide. They have to try to hit him but when he does slide, it ends up being a penalty. If you wait until Allen is on top if you to make sure he is not sliding, he’s gonna run you over or be by you. All the rules are skewed towards the offense though. Btw Allen on that long run broke 20 mph. Most QBs do not get up to that kind of speed, especially not when they are 6’5 and weigh 240 lbs. I know those are probably not measurements you are used to. 20mph = about 32 lmk 6’5= about 196 cm 240 lbs = about 109 kg Hope that helps.

3:49 - The Bills challenged the call and lost the challenge. If you lose a challenge you also lose a timeout. So a coach has to factor that into his decision when he's considering making a challenge.
@danielfinn98116 ай бұрын
You were correct. Refs messed it up
@seanstoica63016 ай бұрын
It was called because he gave himself up. You can't hit any player on the field when they do that. It's also impossible to tell if some plays are set up specifically for a qb rub because of RPOs where the qb decides very very quickly after the snap if he's going to hand it of, run it himself or throw it.
@Demonized5156 ай бұрын
You get 2 challenges if you get them both right you get a 3rd. If you get 1 right and 1 wrong you get no more, if you get 2 wrong you get no more. It is kinda weird 2 wrong and 1 wrong are the same result.

@gcatk6 ай бұрын
If you challenge a ruling on the field, and after review, the call that the referees made was verified to be correct, you lose the challenge and you also lose a timeout.
@mikep38136 ай бұрын
It's not verified to be correct. It's has to have indisputable evidence to overturn. They say the ball glance of the TEs helmet while he was partially out of bounds. If that had been called a fumble and recovered by the Bills it also would not have been over turned if Pittsburgh had challenged. You can't definitively see tha ball glance off the helmet causing a change in direction there the play on the field would stand in either case.

When any player slides you're giving yourself up so there's no reason to hit.
@areguapiri6 ай бұрын
You are exactly right. It should not be a penalty on a defensive player for a hard tackle on a quarterback on a designed quarterback run. The referees don't know how to use logic and basic common sense in those situations.

So what. He gave himself up. It doesn't matter who's running especially if you make helmet contact like he did. By the way, maybe they should have called an obvious false start on Pittsburgh first touchdown. They also took an obvious fumble recovery away from the Bills. Stop crying
