Brilliant way of describing it lol And all the passing of the ball is done by the team who’s defending, never by the team that’s attacking

Baseball is a individual sport that is reliant on good team play. Especially in fielding. Great teams are a collective of specialized individuals that gel together throughout the year and into the playoffs. It's part of what make baseball so special there is a spot for everyone.

Scherzer is earning $58.3 million this season. $43.3 million from his team, the NY Mets and $15 million from a long term previous contract he had signed with the Washington Nationals.

You have to understand their entire life playing baseball. All the pressure has been put on the pitcher. With that how can they not be completely mental lol

You've got the right idea, bud. Pitchers are all head cases. Something about the position just makes them crazy. Maybe it's the pressure of pretty much every play being on your shoulders. Maybe they were crazy before that, and that's why they became pitchers. Who knows. But they're all nutters, as you'd say!

Baseball may seam like a very individual sport but it arguably takes the most team work I mean think about it
@Beltran15x Жыл бұрын
no, if anything it requires the most teamwork because one player means so little to the team. the more one player can help his teammates become better, the better the team. basketball is probably the most individual sport because one player can lead a team to the finals. the only exception might be a pitcher, but they're still supposed to help their fellow pitchers, but they dont know anything about hitting or fielding other pitchers. a starting pitcher is probably the most specialized position in sports along with, kickers in football, goalkeepers etc.

One could argue that paranoid schizophrenic Red Sox catcher Marty Bergen who killed his wife and children with an axe and than cut his own throat with a straight razor was a bigger psychopath than any of these players.

I feel like Max Scherzer is more competitive, than psychopathic! Based on what he does. By the way, yes, Max was born with 2 colored eyes. In fact, his eye condition is called heterochromia iridis. Mila Kunis, Jane Seamor, & Kate Bosworth have the same eye condition.

As a Tigers fan, having Scherzer and Verlander on the same team was incredible to watch. Only duo better was Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling in AZ while I was living there. They won the World Series, something Scherzer and Verlander couldn't quite get done (which still makes me sad to this day) As always, great video. Cheers!

basketball and soccer are very individual "team" sports. you can win championships with one good player. baseball needs the whole team. look at the angels, two of the best players and still can't win anything

As a high school pitcher, my teammates know not to say anything to me during games lol. its a mentally straining position and the entire time I just try to stay focused, so I just pace around in between innings and don't talk to anyone
@jartstopsign Жыл бұрын
Being a pitcher is maybe the most stressful position on the field, it's like being stranded on an island alone and the pressure is on you every pitch. So yeah it leads to a lot of angry head case guys out there. Meanwhile, the funniest guys are usually catchers. There were times when catchers would throw one line insult jokes at me right before the throw and I'd crack up laughing in game

This was a fun one. I like Max Scherzer. I don’t think he’s crazy, but is definitely intense. My brother was a pitcher, and he’s very intense with a short fuse. I don’t know if that’s typical of pitchers, but it wouldn’t surprise me. They have a very tough job that is very easy to lose. You have to be constantly competing against yourself.

As a former pitcher I was always a very even keel guy. That is until I was on the mound. I would get myself so worked up I was definitely not the same guy. Hyper competitive.

There is some team play with batting. You'll see the batter look to the side between pitches. He's looking at the base coaches or manager who is relaying signs to him and the runners on what's going to happen. These signs are a series of gestures and motions (brushing down arm, tapping brim of cap, etc). For example, if a runner is on first base, they might try a hit and run. This play has the baserunner stealing on the pitch, and the batter has to swing at it and try to put it in play if he has a reasonable chance to. The advantage is the runner gets a head start, and the middle infielders move to cover the base for the throw, leaving gaps, where the batter will ideally place it. However, it's risky as if the batter doesn't make contact, the runner can get thrown out stealing, and if there's less than 2 outs and the batter lines out to an infielder, that runner is going to get doubled off easily. Some other signs tell the batter to swing away, take a pitch, only swing at something if it's really good, etc.

Yes baseball is different from every sport because it’s you and the ball, and white boys love to hit homer’s and they uppercut and strike out with bases loaded and no outs and score no runs that inning and we lose the game 1-0, but we had 12 players on base. Also the white boy in America will spend $500 on the new bat, for more power, and he believes that every year the bat will give him ultimately unlimited power. There is a sports event happening now and it’s called the college baseball World Series and the pop up and fly out with bases loaded is common occurrence.
