So does this mean that every vault that starts with this approach is some type of Yurchenko? I'm just trying to figure out a syructure for how moves get names
@Aria-rr3qf2 ай бұрын
this vault approach is called the Yurchenko...that is the name of the approach. Anyone that approaches the vault like this is doing the Yurchenko. For Insance, The Biles II is also called the Yurchenko Double Pike. She does a Yurchenko approach and finishes with two straight leg back (pike) flips. So Yunchenko Double Pike is the name and also a description of what she is doing. So talking to another Gymnast she can say I am doing a Yurchenko double pike. That Gymnast will know that she will approach the vault in the Yurchenko manner and finish with two flips, then stick her landing and smile for the judges.

Yes, some people on drugs get big for their boots and try to name modifications of it after themselves. For example if I do a yurchencnko and them go into 4 sommersaults, it would be a massive degree of difficulty and If I pulled it off I might say its the "Paul", but although it would be impressive most would just call it yurchenko quad.

What if someone jumps onto the springboard with only one foot?
@miaaaaa93993 жыл бұрын
Lmao then they would probably uhhh hurt their leg cuz of the impact cuz of the speed
@geroutathat2 ай бұрын
It would probably be judged as a mistake, like that you attempted the Yurchenko but failed. However if you went through the rules and were allowed land on one foot, and did it as it allowed you to do something with high difficulty and new and different, you would probably win a gold and have it named after you, and then I assume it would be banned as it would probably damage everyones leg attempting to copy it. In gymnastics if you do something crazy, they usually reward you, then ban it.

I’m completely oblivious to the world of gymnastics. Can someone explain what Simone is doing differently to this one? What’s a pike and how is she doubling it compared to here?
@WakandaBabe3 жыл бұрын
Not an expert here...but this gymnast's legs are tucked in when she does the last move. Biles' legs are straight...like she is bent in half. That makes Biles' move more difficult.

@@murasakino101 I see. And it seems to be extra difficult to get that much air just by a split second launch by the arms from the platform? Is this why only men have been able to do it until now? Because women usually don’t have the upper body strength?

i have watched so many of these vault routines and they just never look interesting, why are they used, when there are so many other more beautiful gymnastics routines? why place a awkward solid lump in the path of movement it just stunts the flow and the come down, even when executed perfectly just looks short and stunted.
@emmanuelaodike45154 жыл бұрын
I dont think vault is for looks. It is very challenging running full speed and flipping on a stationary object but thats what makes it unique. It may not look elegant but it sure looks pretty amazing.

To test strength, agility, balance, speed and body control... this is artistic gymnastics not rhythmic. It doesn't have to be pretty, just solid and mastering skills like leaps, jumps and sommersaults is a must.
