TBH Simone's form on YDP is better than pretty much all of the men who have tried it.

It is impressive how much she has charged the world of gymnastics the amount of difficulty she has added to the code of points is wild, she has won competitions with a fall/falls, has only been beaten by 3 gymnasts in the span of almost 9 years, has been dominant since almost the beginning of her career and is a amazing role model if she retires or not it doesn’t change what she has added to the sport and how much she has changed gymnastics she will forever be known as one of if not the best gymnast in history and will be remembered from years to come what a athlete.

@@gymnasticsmasterclass it’s not her fault what happened to her in Tokyo she had the twisties and could’ve died luckily that didn’t happen but she still came back strong in beam finals which l haven’t seen and won the bronze but people shouldn’t be discrediting her for what happened in Tokyo because that wasn’t her fault but that’s my opinion

@@kawaiichan6897 I fully agree. People already hated on her before for "winning too much" but after Tokyo, people used her leaving as an excuse to hate on her even more smh. It's like they forgot everything she's done for the sport and all the times she's won gold/helped to win gold for USA. She chose to not fatally injure herself and I'm glad she didn't. She is one in a million that’s for sure. I bet she is just happy she was the first to accomplish that vault. Can you imagine the emotional stress of that Olympics? It’s bad enough the pressure we put on ourselves to succeed in something or someone’s parents, loved ones or group but she not only had America wanting from her but people contacting her from all over the world-unbelievable pressure. Look at the trouble Michael Phelps had gone through but it wasn’t even on the level of what she was experiencing. Bless that girl and I hope she is so happy and enjoying life- she worked hard enough for it. 💜
@mygirldarby2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the US media put tremendous pressure on Simone. If you only casually watched coverage leading up to the Tokyo Olympics it was as if Simone was the only American gymnast competing. It was ridiculous. They're no doubt showing their support and building excitement for the viewers, but they need to stop this hyper-focus on one individual athlete, especially with team events. It's too much stress on the athlete they've singled out and they practically ignore the other teammates. I remember how they overly hyped Phelps and several others through the years, and I agree they went the most extreme with Simone. Olympic athletes are tough and they are trained to perform under pressure, but the media need to stop putting them up on such a high pedestal that the only way off is to fall or grow wings.

Don’t worry… this vault, not only will be baptized after Simone because she will perform it on a major competition, it’s only a matter of time, but after that, it will easily take several years for some other gymnast, to have the guts and the talent to perform it. Simone Biles is truly a walking legend already.

I don’t know much about gymnastics at all, but I feel like Simon is so good because she’s so short. Does that make sense? I mean obviously she has amazing skill and talent but I feel like her height has gotta help with those kinds of skills.
@dariusparker26855 ай бұрын
I’m glad you brought this up. I’d like to think of Simone as a boomerang 🪃 when she flies in the pikes position. I feel like since she’s shorter her center of gravity allows her to rotate a lot faster than someone with a taller build.

While Jade's difficulty on floor can rival Simone's, this is one place where Simone clearly has the edge. The lift off the table is insane for this skill. Then, the athlete has to quickly get the pikes around. I don't think even Jade could do this despite usually getting very good lift off the table. Jade may get a triple twisting Yurchenko around, however. She was pretty easily doing the Amanar leading up to Tokyo.

Meh, I don’t care if anyone does this in “official competition” before Simone. The pandemic prevented Simone from debuting this in international competition until the Olympics was the only opportunity. Meanwhile, we have gymnasts getting skills named after them left and right because they have the luxury now of doing them at World Cup events.

@MrChrismlamorte4 ай бұрын
It's a Wei. It's named after the first man to perform it in either 2001 or 2002. It's not worth nearly as much on the mens side which is why they don't do it much. The men do much harder vaults.
