Film showing how neon lights are made. Various shots of tubes being heated and moulded to shape. The craftsman blows down the tube as he melts it. Tube is held over a flame then moulded. The tube is then held against a blueprint of the intended shape of the tube - a letter R.
Another craftsman is seen. He works sitting down with a tube in his mouth. He blows air into the tube as he works. Electrodes are placed at either end of the tube and gas is put into the tube. Three bottles of inert gas are seen and an electrode is placed against each to show their colours. Various colours are seen being demonstrated - green, pink, blue etc. C/U of various brightly lit neon letters.
