This footage is similar to newsreel story 'Queen in Katmandu' found in Pathé Newsreels issue 61/19 on Pathe Master Tape PM1714 - Film ID 1714.02.
Title reads: "QUEEN IN KATMANDU".
Kathmandu (Katmandu), Nepal.
Various shots showing examples of the architecture in Katmandu. It is a mixture of Buddhist and Chinese culture. Several close up shots of the colourful Indian and Chinese figures - mostly mythic animals. Various shots, some great close ups, of the Tibetan refugees in Katmandu.
Huge crowds on side of road gathered to greet the Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh. King Mahendra and Queen Ratna waiting at the airport for their arrival. King's entourage in full red uniform lined up to greet the Queen. Queen and King of Nepal and Duke and Queen of Nepal riding from the airport in two separate coaches - huge crowds along the route. Various travelogue style shots of Katmandu - streets, people, buildings, fruit and vegetable market etc.
Tiger shoot is organised for King Mahendra and his Royal guests at Sawai Madhour game reserve. Various shots of the tiger shoot - many men and elephants (327 of them) seen. White canvas is spread to circle the area where the tiger is driven. Queen on one of the elephants looking on. Line of elephants carrying men with rifles at ready. A tiger runs through the high grass. Men shoot and hit the tiger. Several shots of men measuring dead tiger. King Mahendra standing next to the dead tiger. Several shots of the rhinoceros hunt. Dead rhinoceros lying on grass with men around it.
Lines of Ghurkas standing on the field, many with medals on their chests, waiting for the Queen to inspect them. Queen inspecting the Ghurkas. Several close up shots of the men and medals - some VC holders. Crowds around wave small Union Jacks.
Queen and Duke riding in a Jeep through huge crowds waving small Union Jacks.
BRITISH PATHÉ'S STORY
Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.
Now considered to be the finest newsreel archive in the world, British Pathé is a treasure trove of 85,000 films unrivalled in their historical and cultural significance.
British Pathé also represents the Reuters historical collection, which includes more than 136,000 items from the news agencies Gaumont Graphic (1910-1932), Empire News Bulletin (1926-1930), British Paramount (1931-1957), and Gaumont British (1934-1959), as well as Visnews content from 1957 to the end of 1984. All footage can be viewed on the British Pathé website. www.britishpathe.com/

so it makes the shituation better ? if people would not act that foolish in this time-more species would not be endangered or extinct today ! and also it makes an big difference if someone from nepal shoot the tiger ,to feed his family, than to go as an stinking rich person from the west to an poor country like this,to shoot an royal animal like an tiger ! you dig ?...
