Indeed. Now at rest, her duty more than done. It’s such irony that she wasn’t meant to have come to the throne. Her Father died so young at 56. So had he lived to around say his mid eighties Elizabeth would’ve been around 60 years old…But nevertheless I am so proud she did. And I hope that her Father said those words when he met her in heaven…Thank you Elizabeth..

Some differences I'm trying to figure out. George VI naval contingent was larger (heavier..as a man?). Also, interestingly Queen Elizabeth II was accompanied by Royal Marines too but George VI has these white plumed fellows (foot guards?). I definitely preferred the carriages to the motorized vehicles (The glass hearse was brilliant from London to Windsor).

I lived in St. Ives in 1952, seeing these images of this newsreel in the Royal Cinema. The death of King George was palpably tragic, affecting everyone. It was to do with WW2, the 40's austerity and the unassuming King himself. The mourning period was nationally total; everything shut down except serious music..but from that the teenager was born as Radio Luxembourg and The American Forces Network brought new music to the younger generation.

@@mrelano65 The problem is that history has now shown us that political parties are easily bought by billionaire corporate sponsors and their media companies and their lobby groups determine what laws are made and changed. Specifically cultural changes are forced by these globalist billionaires as to what will benefit their global companies most, the people of the country are of absolutely no concern. If the politicians don't comply with their sponsors wishes then a media campaign is launched to quickly discredit that politician or Prime Minister and have him removed in a month or two, so that another can be put in place that will agree. In today's modern age the King can propose a law and a referendum on each new law or amendment could be voted on with a cellphone and blockchain verfication with a simple yes or no. True democracy. In the last 300 years of English history (ie since the USA was becoming independent), two female monarchs (Queen Elizabeth II and Queen Victoria) had reigned collectively for _over 130 years._ What's more baffling, is that England is around 1000 years old, they've been Queen collectively for a tenth of the time that England _has existed._

I realized that it so resembles King George V's funeral before him, and Queen Elisabeth after him, the coffins all bore the same items on top, all have been carried the same way, same pomp, same invites of foreign leaders and kings, same large watchful crowds.. the one change is the body lying in the coffin. How poignant that we're just passing through this life. I would have looked at Queen Elizabeth's funeral a bit differently had I watched this before, with a sense of normality rather than one of tragedy, enthrallment, captivation and wonderment, and with an acceptance of how it's done and how it goes.

@@jessroche4677 they won't wear the veil because they are part of a new agenda that seeks to reject religion. They use their uncovered hair to show their modernity. Did you hear King Charles say in his proclamation that he will defend the faith? By the time the likes of them are Queen, they will get rid of that statement. What they do not realize is that humans will always revert back to the truth. Monotheistic religion is timeless. I do appreciate your question and thank you, we shall see how these women show up.
