Patty, there was a story that came out about Prince Philip attending JFK’s funeral. If you remember, Jackie had a birthday party for John Jr. Later on she went to check on him in his bedroom. There she found Prince Philip playing in the floor with him. Very touching.

I find it fascinating that her father king George Vl was the first British Monarch to visit the US and he did so in 1939 with family in tow ( Elizabeth and Margaret). Queen Elizabeth and Margaret were the first British princesses to step foot on American soil and the Queen met more US presidents than probably any member of the Royal Family ever will. She endeared herself to the American people like no other King or Queen had

Contrary to the the Netflix idiocy and woefully inaccurate series , The Crown , it it was and remains , quite apparent that The Queen did not feel in the least bit “intimidated” by Jackie Kennedy or her much applauded “ style” . And for the sake of levity , I suggest that if it were true…..no matter the “fashion “ of the day, The Queen would not have worn , nor continued to wear such hats made so popular by the ………. Such hats , at the time , rather reminded me of my mother’s housekeeper and her “flowery “ type styled bathing cap !
