Dollywood was hit by the western side of Hurricane Helene. Some damage but they cleaned it up and re-opened a few days later. Dolly was instrumental in donating to and setting up relief programs for those effected. We love her for a reason - she has never forgotten us and stands by us.

Dollywood is in the southern Appalachian mountains. It has always been an underserved and poor region. Dollywood bought an old theme park and turned it into this. She did it to provide jobs for family, friends and the wider mountain community. Her father never learned to read and in his memory and to combat illiteracy gives books to children from birth to age 5, free of charge. You can register your newborn to receive a beautiful book every month while in the hospital. She purchases more books from publishers than anyone in the world except Jeff Bezos of Amazon. It is an amazingly selfless use of wealth. She has impacted and changed more lives than we can imagine. Oh...you can find the recipe for the cinnamon bread online. She has shared the recipe.

I'm from East Tennessee. The Smokies are in my blood. We adore Dolly. She's the personification of the best of the Appalachian people. She's humble, talented, giving and her roots run deep. I hope you can visit some time, not just Dollywood but the Smokies. It's heartbreaking to see what Helene did to the North Carolina and Blue Ridge side of our region especially. Dolly loves her people, and continues to help where she's needed. Can we have her for President? She'd win. 😁

These guys are great!! This is the area where Dolly grew up. Among other reasons Dollywood was created to boost the local economy and give people in the area good-paying jobs. She started her book program in 1995 inspired by the fact that her father was never able to read or write. Upon filling out an application kids from birth to age 5 get free books every month. She's donated 200 million books to date to kids in the US, Canada, The UK, Australia, and the Republic of Ireland. I agree guys the food looks amazing. The roller coasters umm no thank you. Too dangerous for me.😅😂

I have been to Dollywood many times. I take special needs folks down there because the staff treats my guys so well that they will remember the same staff people when they see them again. The rides, shows, foods, and craftsmen are all top of the line. The Dolly trams and the Pigeon Forge busses all operate until the last guest has been taken home. And, Dolly shows up often. Just the best place I ever visited.

Dollywood Cinnamon Bread Recipe Dollywood Cinnamon Bread Ingredients For the Dough: 1/2 cup warm water (100 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit) 3/4 tsp. active dry yeast 1 tbsp. plus a pinch of granulated sugar 1 1/2 cups bread flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsps. unsalted butter, melted and cooled Cooking spray For the Topping: 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon 6 tbsps. unsalted butter, melted 2 tbsps. light corn syrup For the Glaze: 1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar Pinch of salt 2 tbsps. unsalted butter, melted 3 to 5 tbsps. milk How to Make Dollywood’s Cinnamon Bread Make the dough: Combine the warm water, yeast, and a pinch of granulated sugar in a small bowl and let sit until foamy, five to eight minutes. Meanwhile, whisk the bread flour, remaining one tablespoon of granulated sugar, and salt in a stand mixer. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter to the flour mixture. Knead with the dough hook on medium speed until it is smooth and elastic, about eight minutes. Transfer to a bowl coated with cooking spray. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about one and a half hours. Lightly spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Punch down the dough and transfer to a work surface; knead a few times. Cut in half and gently shape into two three-by-six-inch loaves (do not overwork the dough). Place the loaves three inches apart on the prepared pan. Lightly spray the loaves with cooking spray and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm place until puffy, 30 minutes to one hour. Make the topping: Whisk the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small baking dish. Whisk the melted butter and corn syrup in another small baking dish. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line two nine-by-five-inch loaf pans with parchment paper, leaving a two-inch overhang on all sides. Cut four deep slashes across the top of each loaf (the loaves will look deflated). Dip each loaf in the butter-corn syrup mixture, turning to cover, then coat with the cinnamon sugar, making sure to get the sugar in the crevices. Place the loaves in the prepared pans. Drizzle with any remaining butter mixture and sprinkle with any remaining cinnamon sugar. Bake until light brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Lift the bread out of the loaf pans using the parchment overhang and transfer to a rack. Let cool in the paper, about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, make the glaze: Whisk the confectioners' sugar, salt, melted butter, and three tablespoons of milk in a bowl until smooth. Whisk in up to two more tablespoons of milk as needed to loosen. Drizzle on the warm loaves or serve on the side for dipping.

That turkey leg? Very popular at Disney too. I make them in my smoker, and from the market, they’re ridiculously cheap. You can buy a package of two (fresh, of course) for like $4 U.S. tops. Funny that he mentioned it reminded him of ham, because they definitely take on a ham-like taste when smoked. Weird…I know…but fact. There are real smokemasters who know how to do them without that ham taste, but after 30 years of smoking them, I haven’t figured it out yet.

@@chrispavlich9656. You have to be right. I’ve been using like 4 or 5 of the basic woods, and the same thing. But I have plenty of other types to try. Mind you, for the best variety of woods…where I live…I’m limited to my pellet smoker. Every type of wood is available in pellets. For using pure wood, or even wood chunks with coal, my choices are much more limited.

Despite what Josh said, kettle corn is nothing like caramelized corn. Kettle corn is only lightly sweetened where as caramelized corn is heavy on the sugar and it is cooked until brown and then mixed with popped corn. I don't like caramel corn but I love kettle corn because it's not overly sweet.

sometimes when a group a people go somewhere (they don't have to be related) they may wear the same T Shirt to easily identify each other especially in a large place like an amusement park. of course it's not liked to that. We had T Shirts for a family reunion and we just had a picnic in a park. Easy way to tell who belong there and who didn't.

Official Cinnamon Bread recipe: Dough: ½ cup warm water ¾ teaspoon active dry yeast 1 tablespoon plus a pinch white sugar, divided 1 ½ cups bread flour ½ teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled Cooking spray Topping: ¼ cup white sugar ¼ cup packed light brown sugar 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 2 tablespoons light corn syrup Glaze: 1 ¼ cups confectioners' sugar 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 3 to 5 tablespoons milk Pinch salt Directions Step 1 Combine warm water, yeast and a pinch of white sugar in a small bowl and whisk. Allow the mixture to sit until foamy, about 5 to 8 minutes. Step 2 Meanwhile, in a stand mixer, whisk bread flour, remaining 1 tablespoon white sugar, salt and melted butter. Once the yeast mixture is foamy, add it to your stand mixer. Using the dough hook, knead on medium speed until the dough is smooth and stretchy, about 8 minutes. Step 3 Transfer the dough ball to a bowl lightly greased with cooking spray. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place (about 75 to 80 degrees F) until doubled in size, about 90 minutes. Punch it down, then transfer dough to a work surface and knead a few times. Cut it in half and gently shape into two 3x6-inch loaves-be careful not to overwork the dough. Step 4 Place the loaves on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm environment until puffy, about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Step 5 Meanwhile, make the topping by whisking white sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small baking dish. Whisk melted butter and corn syrup in a separate small baking dish. Step 6 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line two 9x5-inch loaf pans with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on both sides. Cut four deep slashes across the top of each loaf (the loaves will deflate). Step 7 Dip each loaf in the butter-corn syrup mixture, coating it completely, then coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture, making sure the mixtures get in all the crevices. Step 8 Place loaves in prepared loaf pans and drizzle with any remaining butter and cinnamon sugar. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Lift the bread out of the loaf pans and let cool, about 15 minutes. Step 9 While the bread cools, make the glaze by whisking confectioners' sugar, salt, melted butter and 3 tablespoons milk in a bowl until smooth. Whisk in up to 2 more tablespoons of milk if needed to thin out the glaze. Step 10 Drizzle the glaze on the warm loaves or serve on the side for dipping.

I don't know about the most American place on Earth but it is certainly the most East Tennessee place on Earth. And when you say that you say the accent on "Tenn"! if you really want to talk to the locals. I a native of nashville, 3.5 hours west of there by I-40. Dollywood and the Great Smoky Mountains National park is are my number one favorite place to visit. . I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If I go south it's an 8-hour drive to the Gulf of Mexico. Snce we grew up lower middle class we couldn't afford to fly places on vacation so guess where we vacationed?? T Before it was Dollywood, in the 60s when I was a kid, itt was called rebel railroad. The civil rights movement in the mud 1960s made the grown-ups realize how insensitive & wrong it was to have a theme park based around the Civil War. The next people that bought it turned it into a wild West theme park I can't remember the name of it but the fun of the train ride was that somewhere on the way you got attacked by bandits and cowboys had come and save you. Not only does Dollywood have fantastic food and great rides, a beautiful setting, add a bald eagle sanctuary, but she hires lots of local musicians and talent to perform throughout the park and in the theater in shows. One of the main reasons she wanted to own that part was to provide jobs for the people in her part of tennessee, the people who don't often have as many economic opportunities as the rest of the state.

If you have frozen yeast bread loaf, thaw, cut slices into it. Roll it in butter, then a big vat of cinnamon and sugar, bake. That's the easy version. Dolly does NOT own Dollywood. She does have a vested interest in it. It is run by the people who have owned it for at least 45 years. It used to be called Silver Dollar City.
