Loving your Home Free reactions. Have a suggestion for something totally different from the Home Free performances you've seen so far, "Helplessly Hoping". no beatboxing, the beatboxer joins in a 5 part harmony. This rendition will make chill bumps run up and down your whole body. It's a Crosby, Stills and Nash cover.

Playing with Fire is a great original, and please don't skip their comments after. The three in the back are a hoot. The Stargazer Trilogy was written by Austin for his lovely lady, now wife, and fishing partner Amberly, who is in the videos. Rob was a music major at the University of Minnesota and was trained in opera so what you see is a mere fraction of his range. His professors encouraged him toward a career in opera, but he chose a different career path. Austin persuaded Rob to do an operatic aria. Rob had Austin to do it with him. Austin had a full scholarship in college in musical theater. Rob took a month to prepare to sing the aria . He and Austin performed Nessum Dorma as a duet. Opera singers have praised Rob's performance and said that he could have easily had a career as an opera singer. If you watch the performance, be prepared to be blown away by how different Rob sounds there than he does in Home Free.. Austin also does great as a crossover artist. Songs that highlight Rob are Boyz II Men's End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, and Honey, I'm Good. Honey, I m Good is an older video when Chris Rupp was a member of the group. it's a humorous song and it has a brief cameo of Rob's, wife at the end. She is a therapist. They have two kids who kept Rob and his wife very busy during Covid lockdown. Four of the guys are married except Austin who is in a long-term relationship. These guys evidently partied hard when they were single except Adam who married younger than the others. He has a daughter. Chance joined the group while he was in a relationship with his future wife. When asked if they dated fans, Austin pointed out that they were married except Chance who was engaged at the time and he Austin was in a four-year relationship. The guys are hoping to be able to tour less in the future to spend more time with their families. There are several videos that show their wives, children, girlfriends in their songs. Pentatonix has a female singer. Voiceplay often has female guest singers (as does Home Free) and even had female singers be part of the group for a time. Both of these groups are based on friends who formed friendships in high school. Home Free started similarly but in the twenty-plus years it evolved to the present group. Only Adam Rupp is an original member of Home Free. If you want to see a female acapella group, you might want to check out season four of The Sing-Off. There was an all-female group, Element, that competed. There was an extremely talented group of teenagers, Vocal Rush, that was composed primarily of girls that had a very rich sound. Voiceplay had a female lead singer during the competition. Season four was when Home Free won. There may have been some all-female acapella groups during the other seasons. I don't know. Pentatonix was on season three which they won. Pentatonix has a female singer Female acapella groups are rare. The reason is that acapella is based on the foundation of bass singers. This is why good bass singers are always in demand in acapella. Women can't sing as many octaves as men. They have to modify music to base it on alto singers instead of bass singers. So it's rare for women acapella groups to get as rich of sound as men acapella groups. Women are basically at a disadvantage in singing in an all-female acapella group because they have a lesser range and can't sing bass..

Favorite voice/singer? I have a different favorite in every performance, and that's hundreds of fickled choices over the last decade! My favorite original song, as of the moment, is "Playing With Fire". Austin (the high tenor) wrote a sultry, sexy melody and the guys provided a seductive backing to hold up this work of art. And, yes, they are all married. Home Free is always my favorite vocal band, no fickled choice there. Keep following these guys -- you will always be surprised and the fans will explode your algorithms!

Their version of this is terrific - the singing, harmonies & beatboxing are always perfect. All of them are married; the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) & Rob each have two children. Rob & Austin are both classically trained and have a duet of "Nessun Dorma" on Austin's channel. Tim, Austin & Chance are each song writers so you might want to watch Tim's original "What's Left of My Heart"; Chance's "Skull and Bones" and Austin's "Remember My Name" for a sampling.

Adam Rupp is probably most private, I'm not sure his wife and daughter have been a part of any of the videos produced along the way, but we've seen Rob, his wife and kids, Tim's wife Jenika Marion, Chance's wife Sami, and Austin and (rumors of recent marriage) Amberly who were part of the Stargazer Triology of videos earlier this year (all 3 original songs). Picking a favorite is like trying to pick a favorite child, they are all impressive in their very own way. The guys have featured several up and coming females over time in their songs. One of the songs I have been listening to for as long as I can remember. (I'm from 1963) First the LP, later I always had it on one of my cassette tapes, then I got the CD and in recent years I usually have it on one of my playlists. Although many versions had been released in the meantime, it was usually the version by Ben E. King or Otis Redding. But from now on it is the version of Home Free that is on my playlist and no other.😊💖 Alternating the lead between Austin's powerful voice and Rob's silky soulful voice just sounds so beautiful and fantastic. Then the unparalleled vocal percussion, truly phenomenal. The great bass and beautiful harmony are the finishing touch.❤ Very difficult to choose which one is my favorite, because Home Free chooses for each song which voice suits it best. So they are my favorite group. But if I were really forced to choose one, I think it would be Rob. He can sing absolutely anything. There is so much emotion and soul in it. An original where Rob has the lead is "Dreamer" which is available on YT in three versions. One of their original videos where Rob really only has the lead. Then with Texas Hill and in one also with Texas Hill in live De Ryman. That's one of my favorite originals anyway. Or listen to "Two COUNTRY Singers try singing OPERA-Nessun Dorma" sung by Rob and Austin on Austin's Chanel. You will then be really shocked😉 Or watch their live 9to5+Beatboxing Breakdown live. 😅 I saw them live on September 27th. And I can say that they really are that good. Pure and steady! And there too with a lot of humor.

Choosing a favorite Home Free member is like deciding which of your kids is your favorite--just impossible. Adam Chance is a unique talent, and i feel like he's under appreciated. Other Home Fries will suggest some videos that feature Chance as the lead. Maybe he's my favorite if I must choose. I really enjoy Tim as well especially for his sense of humor. He's just a naturally funny guy. It really comes out in the live shows. Some of the fan-recorded cell phone concert videos are poor for enjoying the music, but they often can give you a sample of the entertainment value these guys bring to a live show. One female group I am aware of is Citizen Queen. I have seen a couple of their videos and they are nearly as impressive as HF. I heard (this may be apocryphal) that Adam learned to play the drums so he could be sure he was providing realistic sounds - including making them be something that an actual drummer would (or even could) play. He often replicates the motions on stage, especially when doing his solo. This group actually did start as sort of a hobby, in 2001, but they persisted and by about 2010 or 2011 they were a full time band. There had been a few changes during that time, but the three originals were still there (Chris and Adam Rupp and Matt Attwood). They had had various basses and tenors during that time. Rob came on in 2010 or 2011, and Tim a bit later. Austin joined in 2012. Chris left in May/June 2016 and Chance replaced him. As for original songs, they have had originals on every album except the Lockdown one. Some were written for them, others Tim and/or Austin wrote/co-wrote. One of the older "Written for them" ones - Crazy Life - has a really fun video. "California Country" (Austin) and "Good ol Country Harmony" (Tim) are older ones by them. You might try "Dreamer", "Catch me if you can", "When You Walk In", or "Dive Bar Saints" for newer WFT ones, but as for newer Tim/Austin written ones - the selection is LARGE. "Road Sweet Road", "So Long Dixie", "What we Need is Love". The Stargazer Trilogy is three of Austin's songs - "Give me a Sign", "Stargazer Trilogy", and "MR". He also wrote "Love me Like That" and "Lonely Girls' World". And now they have "Skull and Bones", written by Chance - both live performances and a lyric video that is a much longer version of the song. Enjoy the rabbit hole - whether it is a cover or an original, the music is fantastic.

For Chance videos try I Can’t Outrun You, Yours, Some Girls Do. Also Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s older but it’s just him and a microphone doing drums…so incredible. Yes, there are girl a cappella bands and most were on the show The Sing Off…don’t know many famous ones. Home Free has the best harmonies I’ve ever heard. 🥰😃

Enjoying your Home Free reactions. An all female a cappella group (with an occasional instrument) is Starling Arrow at a channel of that name. Absolutely gorgeous. Home Free occasionally invites other artists to join them. I think their most successful with a female artist is Delta Dawn, done earlier this year. A female vocalist is part of the core of Pentatonix.

Home Frees' cover of one of my all time favorite songs is so beautiful it gives me the electric shivers. I find my self replaying it over and over and over. I adore all of Home Free, but I gravitate towards Adam Rupp. His beat boxing/vocal percussion is so extraordinary I'm completely fascinated by his talent and skills. Adam learned to play the drums so his beat boxing would be more precise and he's a high energy guy. He's rarely still. They are all married and Rob and Adam each have 2 children. Home Free are the hardest working musicians there are. They are humble, and love and appreciate their fans. They haven't succumbed to the arrogance of celebrity. That's why the Home Fries are so fiercely loyal to them. Great reaction.

Loving your HF reactions, please keep them coming! Yes, their covers are fantastic - we call them upgrades (!) but their originals are outstanding and they have so many. I believe all but 2 songs on their Dive Bar Saints album and also all but 2 on their So Long Dixie album are originals as well. (There are many others from other albums too.) Others have mentioned Pentatonix (PTX) and VoicePlay (VP) - PTX has 1 female in their group and VP did when they competed on The Sing-Off in 2013 against HF. Some would say PTX is mostly pop; VP is mostly theatre and HF are primarily country/soft rock. Another AMAZING a cappella group that is often overlooked, though IMHO has the best arrangements of them all is Voctave. They are a mixed group, currently 6 guys, 5 gals and the vocals, layering and dynamics of their songs are jaw-dropping. They cover a lot of Disney as many of them sing professionally for Disney, they also have a number of Broadway tunes and beautiful Christmas music in the mix. Suggestions that are a MUST-SEE are: You Will Be Found - done during Covid - just WOW! Disney Princess Medley - features the ladies Disney Heroes vs. Villains - features the guys Disney Love Medley feat. Kirsten Maldonado (from PTX) and her former fiance, Jeremy Michael Lewis Somewhere - highlights each of their 11 singers Prince of Egypt Medley - a vocal masterpiece (audio only, but you won't care)

Tim is from my parents' home state of Texas, where I spent most of my summers for years when young so he has a special place in my heart. I met Chance's wife Sami and got to congratulate her on their new marriage. She was a very sweet lady so they have a special place in my heart. But my favorite Home Free member is Austin. I love his Georgia accent and his smile. He was very nice and sweet when I got to meet him pre-concert almost a year ago. He and his lovely lady Amberly got married in 2023 (being the last holdout) and I'm looking forward to congratulating him when I see them again in April. Tim's and Chance's wives work for the group so I'm hoping to maybe spot them during the event and getting a wave or a hello in return. Rob and Adam each have 2 children and their wives are busy with their own careers when they aren't traveling with the guys. You see a lot of their families in their Home Away From Home and Home Free Eats videos.

I recently saw these guys in concert, a small-ish venue with only around 150 people. At the end Tim graced us with a super-low bass bomb and truly, you could see the sound waves in the air like a bomb blast. On videos you sometimes see it rattle the camera as well as the speakers, but it's funny to see that it does that in the real world! Pentatonix. Start your fall down that rabbit hole with "Hallelujah". They are perfect!! (And they have a female singer as well as a guy with the most angelic high voice you ever heard.)

@@highlyreactivereactions It was a lot of fun. Tim was teasing a young lady (about 14 yrs old) in the front row. She sassed right back at him and Austin encouraged her.

I love them all for their individual talent but if I had to pick one it would definitely be Austin Brown. If y’all watch ‘when a man loves a woman’ you’ll understand why. My other favorite next to Austin is Adam Rupp with his out of this world beat boxing skills. That’s not to take anything away from how talented Tim, Rob and Adam Chance are but if I had to pick the two mentioned above would be my favorites.

So so pleased to see another UK reactor to Home Free! They are really an exceptional group! I was lucky enough to see them in Manchester in September this year, and in London in 2018. They are fantastic live - they don't do concerts, they do parties! I love your reactions and your enthusiasm for Home Free! I would recommend "Brother" and "Helplessly Hoping" (covers) and, as we move into the Christmas season, please check out "Snow Globe", an original co-written by Tim. Whichever song you choose to react to, you will never be disappointed! They are that good! Subscribed for more #HomeFree!

There have been many members since Adam and Chris Rupp started this GROUP in 2000. At least 15 different members. But in my opinion these are the best. Chris Rupp left in 2016 for a solo career, that's when Chance joined them. So if you see Chris the video will be pre 2016. See Adam Rupp is growing his hair again. Wondering if he'll donate it again. Last time he donated 10 inches.

Yes. It is Pentatonix that has both 4 male and 1 female in the group. Voctave is another amazing acapella group with both male and female, much larger with 11 members. Citizen Queen is an all female acapella group that is pretty darned good. You should also take a look at The Bass Gang - all guys and all bass singers with wide vocal ranges like Tim. They did a collab with Tim covering Hooked On A Feeling that is well worth checking out. Acapella is amazing and I agree 100% that it's great to see the resurgence.

Great reaction as usual.. and great question.. Yes! Citizen Queen is an all girl acapeplla group.. Scott Hoying one of the singers in Pentatonix ( I think the P group you were thinking of) was partially responsible for putting together Citizen Queen. Pentatonix is a mixed group that some say rival HF... Pentatonix won the Sing Off the season before Home Free was on. Peter Hollens was a contestant on The Sing Off with a group from the University of Oregon .. On The Rocks. Voice Play was also on The Sing Off that year. To make things a little more confusing, Adam Chance (now Home Frees baritone/bass) was in another group (Street Corner Symphony) that competed on The Sing Off.. lol.. omg... Home Free won the Sing Off If you get a chance.. you should check out the old videos of the Sing Off... great stuff. ( God.. I know what Im saying and It sounds confusing.. Sorry!! ) Love you guys! Thanks!

Pentatonix has 4 men and a woman and they won The Sing-Off the year before Home Free. Voctave is a larger group - more like an a cappella choir - and they have a mixture of men and women in their group. VoicePlay was on The Sing-Off in the same season as Home Free. They made it to the top 6 groups that year. I think there was an all female group on that year as well, but I don't remember the name of that group. Someone else might remember.
