Putting coleslaw on hotdogs is pretty common in the south. They also put it on pulled pork sandwiches if you want it. It's a good combination. I'd never put mayo on any of this type of stuff. Dukes, somewhat thicker texture with a spicer, vinegary bite. Hellman's, yes oilier, smoother and more understated flavor. In my home, Duke's is the only one ever to enter. The Duke's mayo plant is also about 10 miles away from my home, in the Greenville SC area. I've actually been inside the plant many years ago as a sound contractor. The aroma in the plant was AMAZING. Eggs for the product now come precracked and pasteurized in liquid vessel train cars by rail. In the older days, eggs came to the plant straight from the farm and was cracked and processed onsite.

I would place the slaw under the sausage. Then run a stripe of sauce on top of the sausage and then perhaps a small amount of slaw and some fries on top. That way the slaw can stay with the bun and sausage instead of falling off when you take a bite.

When I do kielbasa or bratwurst, I either put onions and green peppers on top that have been roasted in the oven with EVOO on them, but I use vegetable oil smeared on the bottom so they won't stick OR I sauteed them till they're soft!

My favorite is yellow mustard and grilled onions and peppers, on kielbasa😊😊

We have a "saying" over here that, "it's not a good burger if it's not left all over your face!" I guess that includes sandwiches like this one ! 😆

Ohio! Sweet Baby Ray's in my fridge right now. Also, try a pulled pork or smoked brisket sandwich with slaw, fries ( optional) and plenty of BBQ sauce on buttered and toasted sliced bread (outer side only). Let the meat warm up in the sauce. As a kid, we just had on untoasted regular bread. Saucy, soggy deliciousness...eat at home with towels! 😂

@Mrhandfriends Suggestion: Dip the sausage in warmed sauce before putting in the bun, then add more sauce on top of sandwich.❤

We usually buy Hellman's, sometimes the version made with all olive oil or all canola oil.

Toasting the INSIDE of the buns keeps them from dissolving from the condiments.
