There isn’t really anything specifically called an American section. It’s just stuff to decorate for Memorial Day or 4th of July. Displaying the flag is just a normal thing for us. The flag is important to us. Even our National Anthem is all about our flag.

My name is David I'm in Texas, we have larger refrigerators and walk-in pantries and stuff like that so we usually buy enough groceries to last for a couple weeks at least so we're not always at the market

The packs of candy and chips are for Halloween, for school , or just for snacking. You can buy in bulk so you don’t have to purchase everything so often

This morning I went to my CVS pharmacy that is inside the local Target. When you get to go, try to find a "Super Target ". They're quite a bit bigger than a regular one.

Target and Walmart may seem HUGE if you are not used to it. But both Walmart and Target stores design their products into areas or sections and each section has SIGNS for each section or aisle or shelves. For example Clothes Section Mens/Womens/Children, Toys, Groceries (fresh veggies and food), Electronics(Tvs, DVDs, Computers, Laptops,Ipads, etc), Automotive (car products), Hardware (tools, home repair items), Home Goods which has sections such as Furniture Section, Bedding, Bathroom, Kitchen supplies, Decorations, Towels for bath, sheets, Rugs, Seasonal cards to send friends and family, Seasonal special Holiday items such as Christmas and Halloween, Then Processed Food Sections such as frozen foods, sweets, candy, chips etc shelf foods etc.. So you can go in and out quickly without feeling so overwhelmed once you understand the layout of Target and Walmart.

I can usually buy travel size, regular size, family size, or value size in almost any store when it comes to chips or candy or soda or other name-brand popular items. Unrelated comment, the marketing firms have a strong hold of the American consumption market, for example if you want to put a safety gate at the top of your stairs you'll pay up to 100% more if you buy a dog branded gate, compared to the same gate marketed for babies. There must be research that new parents have less money or pet owners are willing to spend more. Thats probably why millie is happy about the price of baby binkies and baby toys. Those types of items are less expensive in the USA.

A suggestion I would make is to get all your stuff together that you buy, get a shipping box, make a content list, and ship it back home. That way you don't have to worry about any luggage or extra weight. Some say that shipping is too expensive, but there are numerous companies that can do it quite easily, at a very good price. YOu usually pay by weight, so if your stuff is lighter, you pay less. Heavy stuff much more.

Americans purchase a lot of flag stuff on July 4th, Memorial Day, and Labor Day

The jacket you're describing is called a "Varsity Jacket" or "Letterman's Jacket". If you do well enough in your particular sport, you can earn your letter (first letter of the school's name or team) to wear in your jacket, which causes it to become a "Letter/Letterman's Jacket". Food/snack package sizes are large because - 1. Many of us live several miles from a store and prefer to stock up for a week to a month. 2. We look out for our kids' school and sports activities that require snacks. If you have a child on a soccer team, for example, parents are on a list to bring snacks and juice for each child. Some may be asked to bring something once a week, some only once a month. My niece's elementary school has some type of activity at least twice a month, and some months there's an activity every day for a week or a month, not to mention birthday celebrations. Last week was a week of dressing up for various themes like, Tropical Paradise, Team Spirit, Country/Western, Rainbows, The 1970s, Pajama Party. Though teachers provide some snacks, parents were asked to donate some, too, if they wanted. 3. Each child who celebrates birthdays, also gets a small birthday celebration in their classroom, so that means the parents will buy cupcakes, juice, pizza, cookies, candy, or whatever. The same goes for holiday parties at school. Movie/Pajama Friday is a day at school for lounging, eating snacks and watching movies, but it's not a weekly event. 4. A lot of Americans are big on parties like my family, so those "huge" snack packages are good for when we host during football games at home. Most of the time we actually barbecue, and/or have a variety of wings and pizza, plus Rotel/Velveeta dip, taco soup, and more. The American themed items aren't always in a section like that in stores. They have sections during holidays like Independence Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day. Yes, some Americans do buy the items like the miniature flags to hold during a parade or dedication ceremony for those holidays, and to put in centerpieces or other items for holiday decorations. They're also there for people who are visiting or recently moved to the US and want a souvenir. The American themed clothing items are more often worn during the fourth of July, (Independence Day) though Americana items that are toned down, might be worn more often and throughout the year by many people. I'm an event planner/decorator, and I've had to decorate for events where the miniature flags were used to decorate tables for the one day, then packed away until the next event which could be a year or more away, depending on who wants what and when. Personally, I don't display the flag at my home, on my car, or wear it on my clothing. My grandfather was in the army many years ago and fought in the Korean war. Though he didn't die in the war, when he did die of illness, my grandmother was given a folded American flag at his funeral to honor and thank him as a soldier. I have that flag, still perfectly folded and sealed for protection. I know of a couple of people with children in the military, and they keep a flag flying on their home for their children in the military, and people do the same for their military spouses. I like that. 🙂👍🏽 These are "department stores" with grocery stores inside them. Super Walmart and Super Target are larger than the standard Walmart and Target. Many places only have "super", now, but there are still some that don't. If you want the experience of seeing groceries, clothing, car tires, camping gear, and more, try a "Super" stor/center, or at least one with separate entrances for groceries. I don't think our two local Walmart Super Centers have "super center" in the title, anymore. 🤔 Alice, I understand what you mean about shopping. I've been shopping with my boyfriend and we try something on, model it for each other and give an opinion if asked or needed. If he gets tired while I'm shopping, he can sit and wait somewhere else or look in another store, but if I call or send a photo saying I want him to come see the item in person, he will. My mom, grandmother and I often gave opinions while shopping together. 🙂 When shopping alone, I follow my own opinion or if I'm really not sure, I'll ask a salesperson or another woman in the dressing room area where the large mirrors in the center of the dressing are. I've been asked my opinion my several stranges. 🙂

The normal, smaller, single serving size candy packages are sold in the front of the store right in front of the checkout/cashier area. They're there to tempt you on your way out. The larger packages are sold in the store for household/families to share.

Our Pack Sizes can be very large at some stores. And this was filmed in May so not for Halloween. That is all the time. To come back with the most, one change of old clothes + what you are wearing. Then go back home with what you are wearing only. While here go to a thrift shop for 2 o 3 more changes. Then sell everything back to thrift shop when you when you go home. I used to do the reverse visiting orphanages in Eastern Europe. It is simple once you get used to it.

If you're going to a store comparable to Target or Wal-Mart yes finding those sizes is normal. Smaller sizes may also be available. When I went to Sam's (owned by Wal-Mart) in the 90s there were packs of Runts candy that were almost the same size as small pillows. The kind you'd lean against the armrest on your sofa.

They were in California for the first Target so that's a Dodgers baseball jersey Millie is wearing. Some Walmart, Target and other places won't let you film which is why he said that. That's a really large Target. The one where I am isn't that large and I don't shop in Target often. It's nice and all but Target is bougie. You can get a lot of the same things at Walmart for better prices. No the package sizing isn't always that big here either but we do have larger sizes than the UK do for the same products. That American product stuff was out because they were either here before or after the 4th of July. Those are definitely seasonal products. At other times of the year, you'd have to buy stuff like that online. PRO TIP: BUY a case when you get here in order to use to pack your souvenirs in to take home 😉

Target and Walmart are almost about the same. Huge differences to me at least Target has fewer things but with better quality and, a bit more expensive than Walmart.

Target is a department store, not a supermarket or grocery store. They do carry hundreds of brands. In America a supermarket is just a large grocery store. Only Super Targets will have a full proper grocery section, the regular Targets mostly have junk food and shelf stable stuff with a small cold food section but it's extremely limited and extremely overpriced. I would never suggest going to Target for groceries. Walmart is the same, not all have groceries and some are only groceries. You'll have to do your diligence to figure out which one to go to. Walmart groceries are much more affordable than Target though and you're way more likely to find a Walmart with groceries than a Target. Target is mostly used for home goods, beauty/bath stuff, clothes, etc.
