Apologies for any of the songs that had to be muted due to copyright, it really takes away from the hype but we hope you can still enjoy the video. After watching this, we're sold and ready to start supporting a team.. purely based on how cool their jersey is! 😆🤦♂ Thanks for watching and supporting our channel! ❤

A lot of the people who are on a knee are praying. Same when they point to the sky but this can also be sending recognition to someone who has passed away in their lives

I think college football is arguably more popular than the NFL because these guys are in their physical prime, they're playing their hearts out to try to go to the NFL, and the hype of the crowd really does get the blood pumping. Also I suggest watching some NHL Hockey it's basically the rules of soccer with the brutality of football but amped up higher and on ice. Reacting to a NHL hardest hits compilation video would give you a good idea.

That actually makes a lot of sense, they have the hunger and drive to perform. Ohhhh Hockey! I'd completely forgot about that! We'll have a look at the video you suggested, thank you!! :)

Basically, every school has several combinations of colored and white jerseys and pants. For home games they wear their colors; usually contrasting jerseys and pants, sometimes both the same color, sometimes colored jersey with white pants. The visiting schools wear their whites; sometimes a white jersey with pants of one of their school colors, and other times with both jersey and pants white.

When you talk about the colors, as a rule if they are playing at home they wear the colored jersey and if they are playing away from home they were their white jerseys.

We don't at all use the word 'kit' for the attire the players wear in football. They are just called uniforms. There are 134 schools with football programs in the top level of NCAA football (FBS). Those are primarily the ones you were looking at there. There are 129 schools that play in the next level down (FCS). There are also many other small schools that play at lower levels. At the top level you'll find smaller stadiums with capacity of only a little more than 10,000 all the way up to over 100,000. There are at least 8 schools that have 100,000 or more seat stadiums. The main school in my city, Louisville, is mainly known for basketball but we love our football too and our stadium can hold 61,000 as does our rival, Kentucky, which is also mainly known for basketball. You are correct about rivalries mainly being geographic. Most are in state like ours or Indiana vs Purdue, Florida vs Florida State, etc. but some, including the biggest, are border state rivalries like Michigan vs Ohio State, or Texas vs Oklahoma.

Ah, over here most uniforms for sports are referred to as kits. Wow, over 100,000?! That's crazy! Especially for schools. :)

In many towns and states without pro teams, university sports are way bigger than professional sports, not to mention have much longer traditions. College football for example dates back to the 1800s.

There are about 300 major division I schools in college football and many more in division II so there will be plenty of teams for you to choose from. Good luck on your new COLLEGE FOOTBALL JOURNEY, guys. You are in for one HELL-of-ride!!!
@parkerflack7283 ай бұрын
I will say if you are picking a team and it’s based on Uniforms(kits) they change every week essentially. School make social media content to unveil that weeks uniforms 😂 and I’m obsessed.A team like Oregon (the founder of Nike’s Alma Mater) has dozens of uniforms and they mix and match them making 100s of combinations. Plus schools will do one-off uniforms. But then there are some teams like Alabama who are very traditional and only have two uniforms (Home and Away). These schools have very simple uniforms and some even don’t have names on the back of the jersey and some only wear black cleats to keep the classic traditional look. Some schools want to be flashy and fun and some want to classic and keep an image. It’s all part of the goodness that is college football.

American college/university athletes are permitted to earn endorsement wages. They are called "NIL" ( *N*ame *I*mage *L*ikeness ) contracts. In most cases, NIL contracts are simply local advertising deals, or small online campaigns which target a geographically restricted audience - "I endorse Bob's Plumbing in Lincoln, Nebraska!". If a player has an exceptionally high profile, the value of the NIL contracts can skyrocket in national advert campaigns, video game appearances, etc. I am not certain to what extent, if at all, the university may arrange such deals on an athlete's behalf. I do know that some highly recruited athletes have contracts in place before they arrive on campus. Opinion is mixed on the practice. Some think it damages the integrity of the sport and promotes individual interest over team chemistry. Others believe that any system which bans athletes from earning money, whilst their labour generates millions, is a form of indentured servitude. I happen to believe both assessments are correct. It is the responsibility of coaches and university administrators to understand that these students have a right to profit from their effort, *AND* to foster squad chemistry and cohesion as well. Brave new world. Edit, PS: American college football coaches earn enormous wages - easily on par with many Premier League managers. They are also amongst the biggest critics of NIL contracts. I understand why. The average 19 year old kid is flaky enough without a seven figure income. Poverty, on the other hand, makes for compliance. Compliance is easy to coach. I just can't endorse the hypocrisy of a man who denies income to a talented kid who is providing the labour which pays his $7,000,000/annum salary.

Texas vs. Oklahoma is also huge. It’s also a good one because it’s played on a neutral site at the Texas State fair, which sounds like it would be biased but is is pretty much half way between the 2 schools. It’s called the Red River rivalry and is played at the Cotton Bowl.

Not a problem to muting the music. Probably a wise choice. To pick a team, you might go so trivial as which uniforms you like best or be against which ones you really don't like. When I sit down to watch (rarely with my schedule) I always cheer for the under dog. Unless it is a home team. You will find something. And you may find you don't like it that much which is okay too.

Really enjoyed your review and appreciate that you both are interested in learning more about our football. Yes, college is much better than NFL in my opinion, but college football is older than the NFL. There are are several teams that have purple in the team's colors- Louisiana State University (LSU) Northwestern University, East Carolina, Kansas State University, Washington University. On the kneeling. Sometimes the players are saying a prayer. Many football players and teams are very religious. My team, University of Michigan last year had over 70 players get baptized. Our arch rivals Ohio State University this year has had over 70 players baptized. So prayer does play a big part in the player's life. However, from a young age, we are taught to learn about sports by taking a knee and then the coach will give an instruction. I think it was just a way the coach could be seen without all the players sitting on the ground. We will usually get a small instruction and then go put it in play right away. So you probably see both of those situations. Looking forward to more. You should see about some of the rivalries. Michigan and Ohio State is over a century old and was voted years ago on ESPN to be the greatest of all rivalries. Some even suggest that former president Ford lost the state of Ohio in 1976 because he played at Michigan. Lol. There are other great rivalries though, Notre Dame vs USC, Texas vs Oklahoma, Alabama vs Auburn. College football is great!!

The funny thing is majority of Americans can tell you about every one of these teams especially college football fans. Purple you say? I think that involves 4 or 5 teams at the "top level". Whilst every team can use purple, 4 or 5 Colleges/University are known for it. Louisiana State University (LSU) of Washington, East Carolina University, Northwestern University, Kansas State University and Texas Christian University( (TCU). Those are the only teams I can think of. Others will speak if I am wrong.

To learn American football, it's best to watch a KZbin video(s) that teach the rules. Otherwise, you won't appreciate what you're watching. NFL and college rules are 98% the same with a few exceptions. For example, college requires only one foot inbounds to be ruled a catch. The NFL requires both feet inbounds.
