A lot of American houses have a mailbox attached to the house near the front door. It's super convenient especially in winter. I can just open my front door and reach my paw out and grab it while staying inside

I can’t sleep without a top sheet. It feels weird with just a comforter.

Top sheets also reduce the frequency in which you need to clean the comforter because it's a barrier.

As far as the mail theft goes, stealing mail is considered a federal crime and the post office has their own postal police. Packages might be stolen off your step in places, but having stuff stolen out of a box is not at all normal.

Yeah, and things like credit cards come in unmarked envelopes as to not advertise what's inside.

Not to mention it is illegal to put anything into the mailbox.

I have a top sheet, blanket and then quilt on top. My house has a "British style" mail slot. I don't have a mailbox.

We have a ceiling fan in every room of our house, except the bathrooms. They make a big difference in staying cool, and we live in Texas. We also have a postal box on the outside, next to the front door.

I stripped the beds of all the bedding this morning and watched towels, washcloths etc.. it took an little over an hour to wash and dry everything.

I use a push salt dispenser (It's like a seed spreader) in the driveway and walk the long driveway. What I would like to see someone come up with a drone version of a salt dispenser. You can sit in your heated garage and just fly it back when it needs to be refilled. I have to use sand in the back path of the house because I live on a river that feeds into the Mississippi. It's a no-no.

Regarding mail theft, my mailbox has a lock with a slot to insert mail but you can't take mail out without the key. The mailman has a master copy of the key but I just walk outgoing mail to the post office since it's only 3 streets away. And yes, stealing mail is a federal crime and highly illegal, much more so than most simple crimes. We put the ceiling fan in winter mode this time of year in NYC. This draws the hot air from the vents near the floor upwards and around the room, keeping it evenly warm everywhere instead of having hot spots.

When I lived in Maine I used one of those seed spreaders Office Bloke Daz mentioned that you push and it the bottom spins and spreads the seeds around I put salt melt in it and used it to spread salt on my driveway and walkway worked very well

Be easier to use ice trays.You can also get refrigerators with built in ice maker and will also dispense water. Or you can just buy bags of ice

I don't like having to wash the duvet every time I wash my sheets. With a top sheet you can wash the giant duvet less frequently.

I use hand held and crank fertilizer. Set it to the highest setting, put some road salt on it, trigger the release and then crank that handle. I had to get the darn thing unstuck some times. As for the top sheet, I often sleep with just that during the summer. Too blasted hot in the desert.
@grumblesa10
@grumblesa10 5 күн бұрын
Only used a spreader like that for fertilizer. Just using the bag of salt and my hand worked fine. Ice maker just doesn't make sense, they must have an ancient fridge. Mine makes it automatically and I can choose from cubes or crushed. He also doesn't get that ceiling fans are reversible. They can move warmer air, which rises, back down ro ease the use of the furnace.

Stealing mail is a Federal offense with some serious penalties so I have never known it to be a problem. It is not worth a Federal offense and they take it seriously.

The people who do the roads are either the state government's road-related department, usually called Department of Transportation (or DOT for short), & the local, or county governments salting the roads. Depending if the road is a state, or local road. Like, I'll use my home state's case of Pennsylvania. Specifically for the state's capital of Harrisburg. PennDOT (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation) salts roads for Interstate 83, but not for Front Street. Front Street is only for the Harrisburg government to salt, in this example's case.

Messing with somebody's mail is a bad idea. It's a Federal crime and I've heard the Postal Inspectors don't fool around.

I live in Canada, the great white north. Trust me when I say we go through a lot of salt and I have never seen anyone using a salt spreader like that. We just grab the damn bag of salt grab an old margarine container then scoop and fling. Oh and there can be an art to the fling, a good fling can cover 30 - 40 feet on each side of you lol. if you have a small 6 foot walkway and a porch that salt spreader would be OK I guess. Just get rid of that yellow fan blade thing on the end lol.

I'm American and I don't like top sheets, or buying a salt scoop, or dumb ice makers... The ceiling fan is handy in the winter because it circulates the heat in the room, lowering your power bill.. The Brits have the better ideas... I think getting your mail thru the door is fantastic, and they do the smart thing and drink things chilled and not iced... Also they do the logical thing and open a window instead of buying a ceiling fan, I know the climate is hotter here.. Another is they thought why don't we toss salt around instead of buying a container, charged or taxed to the people.. They don't need everything to be clever tricks.. They know whats important to spend money on.. I recently went to a friends house and he had an electric damn fly swatter.... WTH.. Goes back to what I was saying.. The Brits are Very smart people, in the most Beautiful country on earth...

6:46 That isn't a walk-in closet at all. The one in the B-roll footage is an example of one. If Laurence's closet was full he wouldn't be able to enter it like he did. Even full walk-in closets have space for one to walk into.

Opening up windows without screens is a no no in much of America ...All kinds of varmints, insects, even birds are liable to get into your home. Snakes ..especially black snakes in my part of the country are great climbers.

Tampering with someone's Mail is a "Federal Crime", not talking about getting a fine or a slap on the wrist NO you go straight to Prison Not jail but "PRISON" 12yrs, so to answer Adian's question yeah Nobody ever really messes with Mail because of that reason, there have been stupid people but talking 2 a year around that ballpark.
