4:06 was INSANE. That was the year the Bills first backed into the playoffs after a 17 year streak of missing them and the Bills needed every game, and their starting QB for that season, Tyrod Taylor, was injured, leaving it in the hands of Nathan Peterman, who earlier that season had been given a start against the Chargers and had the worst debut I've ever seen (5 interceptions, 6 completions, benched by the third quarter), but in _this_ game wasn't doing that bad considering the conditions... but then he got injured and was replaced by Joe Webb, so basically the Bills were on the third string QB by then. The Bills won the game in overtime, 13-7, after the Colts got the ball back due to Webb throwing an interception, but a last minute field goal attempt from Vinatieri -- the same guy who hit that 43 yard extra point -- went wide in regulation. (In OT the Colts ended up throwing an interception, Webb redeemed himself with a good completion or two, and Lesean McCoy ran in a TD from about the 30 yard mark.)

That play with the patriots and colts at 1:25, I think it's the old Swinging Gate formation. The idea is the defense sees all their assignments running to one side, and they follow them, and you get an easy play. The problem is if the defense realizes what your idea is, they do what the patriots did, and then it doesn't work. The Colts absolutely should have seen that the Patriots weren't biting on the trickery and should have called timeout to call a different play. Unfortunately, they didn't.

Exactly.."wtf, the lions aren't blowing them out?" "Wtf, the bears are coming back?" "Wtf, the bears have a chance to win?" "Wtf, call a TO or snap the dang ball already!". Game ends, bears: WTF happened? Lions: WTF was that? Really? As a bears fan I just sat there looking at my TV like, WTF? 😂😢

Yeah, I am in Chicago. I can't believe they let the last 30 seconds go off the clock and didn't use their timeout. Idiots. And the stupid penalty that moved them back from the ten yard line to the 40.

2:06 this one requires some explaining. This was in 1998. At the time, the rules were that you had to attempt the conversion/extra point after scoring a touchdown, even if time expired during the touchdown play and you already had the lead. This rule I think has since been changed, because of shenanigans like this and also an infamous case where fans, very angry about the game-winning touchdown, were basically rioting and throwing shit and the league made the team come out and do this. Anyway, in this case I'm guessing maybe the Bills had left the field entirely while the touchdown was reviewed or something, and so then they make the patriots come out for the conversion and the Bills just declined to field a defense, so at that point the offense is like we might as well pad our stats and go for two!

It’s funny they put Marshawn’s sickest beast mode run immediately after the interception that lost them the Super Bowl. The Seahawks had a timeout and Marshawn in the backfield to punch it in to win it all, easiest call ever but nope lol they throw for that int and blow the entire season

@Lj8-u7e don't know about that, hurling a guy backwards, has never been done before. Barry Sanders did what Marshon did, every Sunday. However, it's subjective.

Colts fan here - the clip at about 1:40 .. supposedly they were just supposed to try and draw the Patriots offsides. But they snapped it and .. yeah. Our coaches and entire organization after 2010 was totally fucked in the head honestly. The Pats were in their heads - they (for some reason) thought they could outsmart Belichick, and in the process made themselves look like jackasses and had the worst play in NFL history. It's embarassing to be associated with this franchise whenever they show that clip 😂

The very last clip is usually called schoolyard bullcrap. I forget the exact stats but those plays end up in a fumble like 80% of the time. Although, there are many believers in designed down field laterals, the most popular being the hook and ladder.

The Butt Fumble will follow Mark Sanchez, for life… The Malcom Butler interception basically sealed the Superbowl win… My one reason for not considering the OBJ catch, to be the greatest catch of all time, is the sticky gloves that modern wide receivers use. Go back and watch some of the catches that Steve Largent, Jerry Rice, or other old school wideouts made, barehanded, and tell me that those catches wouldn’t have been a hell of a lot easier, if they had the sticky gloves that OBJ has. Those gloves make those kind of catches occur, a lot more often than people think… There are definitely more unbelievable moments to watch.

Honestly I'd love to see, maybe at college level, a team give the rugby team a chance as their offense in football. You could do it in garbage time in a game you're losing by 50, just to see what they could do.
