@@mildredpierce4506I understand what you mean. I watched a couple make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich incorrectly and they both looked a bit nauseated by the whole experience. Also watched the NZedders make their second year of Thanksgiving dinner with a slimy under-cooked turkey bottom because they didn’t want to turn it over in the roasting pan and they substituted kavas for yams because they thought they were the same veg. Ms H is head and shoulders above, simply because she can follow a recipe, instructions and advice.

In an argument with his sister. Hubby was asking her to try not to swear as much around our little boy. She said it's not like he's a sponge. Just sitting there absorbing everything he sees and hears!? 🤨🤷 Hubby said, What! Of course he is! How do you think kids REALLY learn how to talk? By listening and hearing everything and everyone around them. We weren't saying don't swear. Just to try not saying the F word every other word. There are other words in the dictionary. Even other swear words. Lol She refused because "kids especially toddlers are not sponges".

Mrs. H, please stop putting yourself down and/or stop listening to comments that say you can't cook. Just the fact you are attempting these recipes on social media and doing a pretty good job means you can cook. The one thing you should learn is that the U.S. does not have a strict cooking code. You can go to the same same city, same street, two houses side by side and they will probably make the same dish differently. It is why the U.S. is called a melting pot.

BTW, the origins of this parmigiana sandwich can be found among Italian American immigrants from Boston, New Haven, New York, New Jersey and Philidelphia; then Pittsburgh and Chicago.. My favorite alternatives for meaa of choice are sweet Italian sausage with plenty of fennel seed or fried chicken cutlet.

"We're not cooks." Horse puckey! You cook, you enjoy it and you eat and enjoy it all over again. That's called cooking which makes you cooks! I've always made my own meatballs. I grew up with home grown cattle and when butchering time came, a good quarter of that beef was ground to hamburger. We had a couple of vats in which we'd mix together 25 lbs of hamburger at a time with onions and garlic (did your meatballs have garlic? A good meatball needs a hefty waft of garlic!) And we always put a large can of "shaker cheese," (shredded parmesan) into it, and then italian style breadcrumbs and eggs. Then it was my job to reach into that almost freezing cold beef and start mixing it all together by hand. With 25lbs of beef, I'd be in it almost up to my elbows! From that we'd make dozens of meatballs, lay them out on cookie sheets and put them in one of the five upright freezers in my parents' house to get them to set up so when we packaged them for long term freezer storage, they wouldn't lose shape and/or stick together. We'd do another larger vat of ground beef to make a dozen or more 2 lb meatloaves to have in the freezer, too. And the rest we'd make into 1 or 2 lb blocks to freeze for chili or hamburg barbecue or meat sauce for spaghetti, etc. And another whole pile would be shaped into patties, layered with squares of freezer wrap and frozen in a stack of 6 or 8 for having hamburgers. After handling icy cold beef for hours my hands would be aching but there was such satisfaction in knowing we were set for winter for beef. And of course there were the roasts and steaks and soup bones to freeze as well. I do not miss that work, but I do miss the great tasting beef. Putting mozzarella in the center is a great idea. And Mr H, please, is there ever such a thing as too much cheese? Pulleeze! We made our pasta and marinara sauce in those same giant vats, btw, and canned them for later use. :) From Pennsylvania...

Kent Rollins is from my state of Oklahoma. I've watched him a lot the last few years since I bought a few cast iron skillets. I've tried a few things he's made. Some things I liked, so things I didn't care for. Loved the banana pudding though it is too sweet for my taste buds, and his fillet mignon video helped me out a lot. There's still several things I'd like to try.

When I was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver Colorado back in 1986, there was a deli / restaurant in the Denver mall. One of my friends took me to this place and was telling me about their meatball subs, so I decided to try it. The meatballs were about the size of a baseball and it was delicious! Even though it has been almost 40 years since I have had that sub, I can still remember how good it was... I had to eat it with a fork and a knife!! I haven't had one as good since! Watching you make and eat your meatball sub today had my mouth watering!!! Great cooking with H video today... I enjoyed watching Elana grab the meatball out of the bread and ate it that way.... she is so smart and polite... you are great parents, she is so sweet!! Happy Sunday H family!❤😊❤😊

Boy, those look good! Bravo all around, you all looked very happy! And Mrs. H, you're a cook by now, trust us. When we're drooling here on the other side of the monitor, that's your proof of the pudding. 😁 I'll be making a double batch of marinara sauce myself today. Part of it will be be for spaghetti sauce. I use the same sauce for lasagna, and tomorrow I'll make a couple big pans of my 4-cheese lasagna. One for my freezer, one for a friend's family. I use 13"X11" foil pans, and layer the pans as deep as I can get. Something around 5 layers. 😄 The pans have to be put on a cookie tray or they'll collapse. Mozzarella, Parmesan, extra sharp Cheddar, and small curd cottage cheese. (Because Ricotta is expensive, and too dry for me.) I put everything but the kitchen sink in the sauce; a traditional Italian chef would have a fit, LOL. Bad enough I use marinara instead of bechamel, but all those extras?! (I *like* mushrooms, mushroom powder, tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and lots of wine and bay leaves and dry onon-mushroom soup mix, etc., etc.; it tastes good!) I'm going to be soo tired, but boy, will my freezer be full.

(I am a cheese lover, keep that in mind) in high school in the winter, since i had access to a microwave, i would pack ( all seperately) 2 6 inch rolls, 10 meatballs, 4 slices of provolone cheese, and a little bit of grated parmesan cheese. Cut roll into half, not all the way through tho about 2/3's of the way through. one slice of provolone, 4-5 meat balls depending on the size of the meatballs. Then I would sprinkle the parmesan cheese and another provolone slice on top. That is the way I grew up with it in my household. Home made meatballs will always be better than store bought, provolone has a good cheese pull. I grew up with busy parents, we would put the crock pot on around 8am and do meatalls filled almost to the top, then a whole bottle of marinara sauce, mix it up and let it sit till like 2pm and you have yourself dinner and leftovers. Love this video!!! I grew up eating this all the time and still eat it all the time.

It's a different style, but I almost always split hoagies and sub rolls from the top in a Y shape inside. I find rolls cut from the side fall apart easily. Oftentimes meatball subs have the meatballs cut in half, so they don't slide around and are easier to eat.

I also love that you let her help sometimes. She will be able to cook good food when she is still young. On another note, I love how she has such good manners at such a young age. You 2 are obviously good parents and she is a lucky little girl. Y'all are my favorite family to watch. Love all of you and adding Olivia to some of the videos is great. For something you won’t believe Americans are addicted to put White Castle on your travel list. It tastes kinda horrible but it’s an addiction for us for sure. Oh warning the freeze dried onions make you poop….a lot.

I love homemade meatball subs, but you can also use the frozen meatballs for a quick midweek meal. It is nice to have dinner in under thirty minutes during the work week.

Helpful Hint: After boiling the tomatoes, plunge them into ice water for a few minutes to cool them down quickly for easy handling and peeling.

You say, "We're not cooks, but we're having so much fun doing this." But I maintain that makes you cooks! I made the award winning Texas chili tonight, from your video. Your enthusiastic reaction persuaded me. My husband is currently going back for thirds. And he's very particular about chili! You almost got how we pronounce oregano. You nailed the emphasis on the second syllable, but you pronounced the 'e' syllable as "ah", and it should be "eh", as in "egg".

Little pro tip. Cook the tomato paste in the pot/pan first. Give it a good sizzle before you ad the blended mix. It dulls down sourness and bitterness from the tomato paste. Makes a milder flavor.

Yummy! It really doesn’t matter that you cut the onions up like that. Did you have any left over? Oh, 2 meatballs left over. I’m sure they’re gone now. Oh, some places in tho US slightly toast the buns too. Looks like Alana really enjoyed her meal.

Question: Have you shared any of your American or Mexican food dishes with family, friends or neighbors? If so what were their reactions? When I lived in England I would make steaks and burgers for my British neighbours and they loved them.
