As the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office issues travel advice urging against all travel to Lebanon, Shelagh Fogarty speaks to former UK Middle East and North Africa Minister, Alistair Burt.
This advice comes after 12 people lost their lives on Tuesday, and thousands were injured when Hezbollah operatives' handheld pagers exploded. The following day, 20 more people were killed in similar incidents involving walkie-talkies.
“If you are currently in Lebanon, we encourage you to leave while commercial flights are still available," the warning states.
It follows the suspension of flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv by several major airlines, including British Airways, Lufthansa, and Air France, amid growing concerns about escalating violence.

Different representation for the Palestinians? What about the Israelis?! Who have made it clear that they do not want there to be a Palestinian state. How biased is this woman?

The 1978 South Lebanon conflict (codenamed Operation Litani by Israel) began after Israel invaded southern Lebanon up to the Litani River in March 1978, in response to the Coastal Road massacre near Tel Aviv by Lebanon-based Palestinian militants. Maybe don't attack Israelis?

@@robertcampomizzi7988 Citations needed. You quoted some source, but maybe don't cite zionist sources that have a vested interest in always portraying Israel as the victim, when the clear history of the last 70+ years is that Israel is regularly the aggressor in these situations?

Probably the Shebat Farms. It is a small slither of land in the Golan Heights that from the end of the French Mandate till 1967 was administered by Syria. It was then captured in the Six Day War by Israel. Under UN Resolution 1701 to end the 2006 Lebanon war, Israel was to withdraw from all of Lebanon. They did but Hezbollah didn't want to comply (they would have been disarmed) so all of a sudden they claimed the Shebat Farms where Lebanese territory not Syrian and Israel hadn't complied.
