Until then, I was constantly plagued with suicidal thoughts and felt I was worthless and had no purpose in life. I adore the way that Britt Nicole's songs deal so heavily with the theme of hope (A virtue which is becoming increasingly hard to come by in this day and age, yet one which we are in dire need of). It's like, "Gold" is about finding hope within yourself by remembering how loved and valued you are in God's eyes, and "Ready or Not" in turn is about spreading that hope around to others! When I first heard this, the first thing I thought of was Bridget Mendler's song "Ready or Not" that she released a few years ago. Even though there is enough difference, that I wouldn't quite accuse this of ripping Bridget off, I am curious if she sampled some stuff from her song. EDIT: So I actually looked it up, because I was curious and it turns out that both Britt and Bridget sampled the original song "Ready or Not" by The Delfonics. So neither of them were completely original. But they both got permission to sample the song.

This music is a message from God to me. The Lord has now saved me and I have His light in my soul so I should not hide it anymore but shine it so that the world will see and come to Him too.
