This was/still is my anthem. I heard this for the first time on ipod shuffle on the worst day of my life when I was experiencing debilitating anxiety. I was in the car, crying out to God and then this song comes on. As soon as she said the lyrics "the sun is rising" I "lifted my eyes" and saw the sun beaming brighter than it ever has through my sunroof. God was very tangible for me in that moment. From that moment on I knew He was going to get me out of the dark pit I was stuck in. I truly did feel like I couldn't imagine how I was going to find a way out... but I did through God's grace and I am a living testimony of that. Thank you, Britt, for this song. Thank you for letting God speak through you to minister and encourage others in their suffering.

This song means a great deal to me, and I think it has a beautiful message behind it. There are so many times in my life when I thought I should just give up, what's the purpose of even trying, when no one really cares. It's then at my darkest of times something reminded me that I have much to live for and that it's okay to dream big things, as well as given those ideas a real chance to bloom.

Coming back to this song. Back in like...middle school/high-school, this is one of the songs that kept me going. Depression and dark thoughts suck. It's terrifying. I had multiple times that I wanted to just make myself not exist. But I always had something in me holding onto me, stopping me from jumping off the edge. I never comment on stuff but. Anyone who might have the chance of reading this. Keep holding on. Don't give up. I know these words can feel like nothing. Like it just passes through your head. But. I genuinely mean it. As someone who has been down that dark alley mentally. It's terrifying. So. If you're reading this. I'm glad you're still here. I'm proud of you for continuing to fight. Keep going. ♡
