On July 20th 2018, the Cunard QM2 left New York City’s Brooklyn terminal for a trans-Atlantic crossing to Southampton.
We travelled to England in the Brittania balcony class (not the club class).
This is a quick review of the room and its features.
Of the three reviews we have done, this is the smallest room we have had.

I travel on the QM2 quite a bit to get from New York to the Uk and back and I can quite honestly say,I've watched a lot of videos about her on here and that was one of the best. Nice down to earth informative video. Hope to see you on her someday.

Thank you for this! I personally could probably never afford the higher priced rooms (at least not now) but this room seems to be exactly what you pay for: a place to rest when you aren’t out and about on the ship. Love those small details (tea kettle!) and seeing as how I’m a small person (only 5’6”) I feel this room would actually feel large for me. Again, great video, very informative; hope it was a lovely crossing! :)

I do love the down to earth oral tour Thumbs down in the start do to feeling I was a bad person for only being able to be in a Brittania stateroom. However after watching more into the video there was no negative intent in your description. Rule 1 I always showed up twenty minutes early and waited outside the doors for Tea Time. Best way to enjoy wonderful music, snack food and amazing deserts, as well as a cup of tea. Also my last time stayed in a Single Cabin very nice. I do cry when viewing shower curtains... perhaps we can all chip in for shower doors one day. Post Script I subscribed to your channel and found that you like Classical Music as do I, very nice.

Though I book Queen's Grill accommodation, I have seen the Brittania rooms. The cabin you showed is a "hull" balcony stateroom. The Brittania cabins on the upper decks of the ship have a glass bulwark instead of the steel. The important difference is even though the glass bulwark cabins are more expensive and higher up in the ship, the balconies they have are almost two feet narrower than the steel bulwark cabins. It seems to me that if you don't mind being on one of the lower decks and don't mind having a steel bulwark, the hull balcony cabins like yours are the ones to have if you use the balcony at all.

Yes, the balconies are larger, and I believe the cabins are as well on the lower decks (4, 5, and 6). You also have the advantage of more privacy in the sheltered balconies as it's virtually impossible for anyone on a lower deck to catch a glimpse of you on your balcony or even at the end of your cabin.

Thank you most informative. We sail on QM2 on 11/11/18 NYC, Southampton, NYC. We were advised for a Fall or Winter sailing to book a mid-ship lower deck stateroom just in case it gets rocky. Looking forward to our 22nd cruise, however, or first Trans-Atlantic.

I'm in my room a lot...to read, sleep, recharge, etc. I don't go on a cruise to make friends, I go to relax. Haven't tried Cunard yet, and I hear their lecturers are mostly wonderful and informative. On the cruises on other lines, the lecturers are usually long-time-retired military, or journalists. Those who don't have skin in the game anymore. So boring. This makes me want to give Cunard a try.

As you mentioned your luggage stowed in the closets, I wondered if you're aware that the beds are designed with enough clearance to keep your luggage underneath. For any potential passenger worried about running out of closet space, they should note that their suitcases need not use up any precious wardrobe space.

You did give some information missing from other videos which is much appreciated, but I do think you need to up the resolution and perhaps think through your dialogue and editing a bit. The video was blurry and some of the scenes were cut mid-sentence. Thanks for posting.

Not much storage space. Cheap half bottle of fizz. Not a true balcony. It’s a slit in the hull.
@bantcm
@bantcm 5 жыл бұрын
If you prefer a glass balcony they are available but having experienced both I believe the in hull balconies on deck 4, 5 and 6 are superior for transatlantic crossings. As for storage space there is loads, our last back to back crossing we took 5 suitcases and 3 large hand luggage and easily accommodated it all in the space available. Empty cases can be stored under the bed.
