@@aletaanderson8725 He sounds like a very nice dog! my dog was an anxious little bugger and unfortunately he had a heart condition. he would still book it whenever he got out of the backyard fence! I have a relative that had a pack of Britanie's. They seemed very energetic, they even bite at your legs when you walk by them. Maybe it has to do with them being with other dogs? but yeah I think it would make sense that there is differences in the energy of dogs. Some dogs might adapt to their owners lifestyles differently. To anyone reading this, :) have a wonderful day!

My Brittany, Buddy, passed away at 17 last year. I had known him from the time I was a child to the time I was a man in my late 20s, and he had been my best and most faithful friend. Full of energy and personality, Buddy endeared himself to our cul-de-sac, earning their absolute trust, such to the extent that the neighbors were comfortable with him going off leash on Halloween to greet neighborhood trick or treaters as the "mayor" of the cul-de-sac. Buddy was a wonderfully affectionate dog, and during the tumultuous years of puberty he provided great comfort to me, often sensing when I was sad or lonely and jumping into bed to snuggle with me. Brittanys are a great breed for young families; relatively low-maintenance, affectionate, patient around small humans, and very playful and cuddly. Highly, HIGHLY recommend this breed!

Had one for nearly 13 years of my 19 year life. Best friend a boy could ever have. He was there for my entire adolescence. I miss him everyday, but I’m very grateful to have been blessed with such a well-behaved dog. As others have said, they do need a lot of exercise and they LOVE to hunt. I highly recommend getting a Brittany to anybody, you won’t regret it! :)

My family had 3 brittanies growing up. They are fantastic animals, loving, loyal, playful, ridiculously fun, and devoted. They require a lot of activity and exercise. Also their coat needs a lot of regular brushing. My family’s last brittney lived to be 17 years old and Queenie is still very missed. If you have a young family and at least a medium sized yard, add a brittney to your family.

Our Brittany is by far the best dog we have ever had. So loyal, energetic and loving. Monty is a true star. Can’t recommend them highly enough. But they must be exercised lots every day. The more effort and time you put into these gems, the more you will get back.

@kathrynh6855 жыл бұрын
Rupok Khan They chew a lot when there puppies and usually don’t stop until there One and they are also very picky with food. Brittanys are hard to leash train in my experience but if they are trained from a young age they should do well. You also need a decent sized yard I would recommend medium to large. They love to be outside so we keep our Brittany outside with lots of water most of the time though she does come in to play, eat, and sleep. (Keep in mind that your Brittany could be very different than mine but this is just my experience with them)
@LBCAndrew5 жыл бұрын
@Rupok Khan American Brittany's were specifically bred to be bird dogs, contrary to what the uninformed video says. This can be either a blessing or an annoyance because when on a leash they tend to want to "get to work" and find birds. Luckily though, when a bird is found they will stop and point, and not give chase. Our 2 year old not only points birds, but points the dog cookie jar in the kitchen, or the pantry where the chews are kept. Its pretty entertaining. I ask her what she wants and she lets me know by pointing.

The best dog I ever had was half Brittany and half....something else. He was extremely intelligent, loyal, protective, he even showed a sense of humor. He was my best friend while my husband was deployed. I fell in love with the Brittany breed and would love another one. My husband likes beagles. A half beagle half Brittany would be perfection.

I've had our Brittany now going on 7 years. She didn't call down until sge was 5 yrs old. I had a white Husky for 14 years and I saw my Peaches at 4 days old and fell in love with her immediately. Huge difference raising her as a puppy vs my Scooby-Dee (white husky) I miss my Scooby-Dee every day and it took me awhile to get fully attached to Peaches, I now cannot imagine my life without her. She is definitely a mommys girls. When I sit on my couch she comes right next to me, its almost like she cant get close enough.. I love my Peaches and am so glad I chose a Brittany... thanks for your video Susan M Elkhart, IN

She, along with the 2 cats she claimed when my sons cat had kittens (I kid you not these cats are about as big as she is and she is quite proud LOL!!!!!) all sleep with my hubby & I on the bed. He has toys only wants to play a little twice a day. What kind of food does he need only gets 1 and half cups a day of food. On glucosime chews tartar cleaning chews from vet, and jell for tartar. He loves a sprinkle of parmesan cheese on dry food with little water. Am I doing ok for him. Hes very laid back age 6.cuddly all the normal traits. Thanks for in put.

I give my girl only one cup of food 2 xs a day she weighs in at 33 lowest-35#'s at her highest weight. Has your vet ever told you that he/she should not weigh more than 45#'s the highest weight to be at a healthy weight? Mine only gets her dog food, teeth cleaning chew and she will get fresh veggies when we are eating to keep her happy. Every now and then she will get the training size biscuit one or two per day. Just curious why you feed yours 1.5 cups of food 2xs a day.

Please change the title. They are NOT a spaniel. Spaniels originate from Spain. The breed is called the American Brittany. I've had now 7 of these wonderful dogs throughout my life and i doubt i'll ever go with a different breed. They're smart, loyal, fun, have plenty of energy, and are great with kids. In fact, i've been around literally hundreds of these dogs due to my parents involvement with the American Brittany Club and i have yet to encounter a mean one. edit/ Not a traditional hunting dog? Are you insane? These dogs are quite possibly the ultimate bird dog. If you've ever taken one for a walk you'd immediately see they have birds on the brain and will instinctually find and point them. There is a reason why they're known as a "Dual-Dog". Its because they're both a show dog and a fantastic bird dog. Especially for upland game like pheasant, quail, chucker, grouse, and most are natural retrievers.

She is old and blind so she isn't active at all and has no interest in playing. I'd love to find something for her to do, but she is happy to just sleep and snuggle.

My Brittany is AKC registered and her dad and granddad were both grand champions in dog shows and have won numerous trophy for best in show! I would have done this for Peaches only I am not healthy enough to have done what was needed to train for the dog shows. My vet who shows dog said she would have been a natural, with her immediate stance when she stands. This makes me feel good to know that she could have been a winner too!!! I can't see her as a hunting dog, although I'm sure she could have been trained for one as she is super smart and an easy learner
